Wild speculation from me, but I think a jump in the generations to William is likely. The Duke of Edinburgh is on his last legs. Queen could die shortly afterwards 'of a broken heart.' Or just exit the public stage. Charles passes the throne to William and retires Castle Dracula to look after his plants. William's has children out of the bloodline (that we know of) so that is progress. Alternatively, Charles could play a big role in Middle East as King as he is very well respected there. Lot's of possibilities. I think the UK will still be a monarchy though it will move to a smaller more symbolic role like you have in the Netherlands and Sweden.
