Traveler in the 1800's in Himalayas got laid up and convalescing at a monastery and the monks wound up telling about a palestinian teacher who visited the area and his name was Issa and the got word that after he left he was crucified back in Palestine. Interesting parallels.
Apparently they had books on it and the things he was saying were very Christ-like and were pissing off the elites to the point of assassination attempts iirc.
