VATICAN—A surprise resignation.

Pope Francis accepted the resignation of Father Juan Antonio Guerrero Alves, SJ, as Prefect of Secretariat of Economy for the Holy See.

His resignation is “for personal reasons”, effective 1 Dec, 2022.

Fr. Guerro was named Prefect, 1 Jan 2020.
