House panel gets Trump tax returns

The House Ways and Means Committee has obtained former President Donald Trump's tax returns, years after first demanding he hand them over.

Multiple outlets have reported that the Department of the Treasury has complied with the House Ways and Means Committee's request for the documents.

Trump had for years attempted to deny the documents to the House committee, though the Supreme Court earlier this month ended the dispute by ordering their surrender to lawmakers.

The handover came at the eleventh hour, as Republicans would have likely withdrawn the request when they take over control of the lower chamber in January.

Trump fumed over the High Court's decision last week. "Why would anybody be surprised that the Supreme Court has ruled against me, they always do!" he said on Truth Social. "It is unprecedented to be handing over Tax Returns, & it creates terrible precedent for future Presidents."

"The Supreme Court has lost its honor, prestige, and standing, & has become nothing more than a political body, with our Country paying the price," he continued. "They refused to even look at the Election Hoax of 2020. Shame on them!"

The tax returns may shed light on the reportedly poor state of Trump's business empire. As part of the Manhattan District Attorney's criminal fraud probe into the Trump Organization, former Trump accountant Donald Bender admitted this month that the former president reported consistent losses from 2009-2018, including a $700 million loss in 2009.

Ex-senior Trump adviser Stephen Miller testifies to Jan. 6 federal jury: report

Former senior Trump adviser Stephen Miller reportedly met with a Washington, D.C., federal grand jury investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.

Miller spent several hours at the downtown federal courthouse Tuesday, a person familiar with the probe told CNN. Top Jan. 6 prosecutor Thomas Windom was also seen at the courthouse that day.

Miller could be the first known witness to be interviewed since a special counsel started overseeing the probe. He would be able to offer first hand testimony about former President Donald Trump's activities leading up to Jan. 6.

The Justice Department subpoenaed Miller for the federal probe in September. He testified about Jan. 6 for the first time during an eight-hour interview in April with the House committee investigating the riot. That interview was completely separate from the federal grand jury testimony.

Air marshals call on Biden admin to return them to flights instead of southern border

Air Marshal National Council President Sonia Labosco this week warned that the Biden administration's deployment of air marshals to help with the migration at the southern border was compromising the security of air travel.

Air marshals are currently present on far fewer flights than normal, Labosco told Fox News. Many of them have been reassigned to border regions to supplement existing border authorities that are overwhelmed by the surge in illegal migration.

"We have been decimated. We have been depleted. We're on less than 1% of flights," Labosco said. "These ground-based duties that they're pulling us out of the sky to go to the border are just demolishing our chances at stopping another 9/11."

"There have been numerous incidents — a level 4 threat which means someone tried to breach a cockpit two days ago on a Southwest flight," she added. "So the message is, 'Sir, please replace the air marshals on the border. Stop taking them out of the sky and let us do the job that we were trained to do.'"

Earlier this month, a Utah man was arrested after holding a straight razor to a woman's throat on a flight from New York, the New York Post reported.

Labosco's plea to the administration comes ahead of the Christmas season, during which many more Americans will use air travel than under normal circumstances.

McConnell says there is 'widespread agreement' on need to pass an omnibus

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell on Tuesday said Washington lawmakers shared a "widespread agreement" on the need to pass an omnibus spending package in December.

"We had a really good meeting. Laid out the challenges that we're all collectively facing here. I think there's widespread agreement that we'd be better off with an omnibus than a [continuing resolution], but there are some significant hurdles to get over to do that," he told reporters.

McConnell said "defense and Ukraine" funding were "at the top of the list" for Republicans, but they were concerned over Democratic bids for discretionary spending, according to The Hill.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, meanwhile, expressed optimism after Senate leaders met with President Joe Biden on Tuesday to discuss a budget deal.

"We each laid out our criteria for the omnibus. Obviously they're different, but we've agreed to sit down as early as tomorrow, the four appropriators and the four leaders, to try and resolve the issue and avoid any government shutdown," he said. "So it was a good and productive meeting."

McConnell's openness to a budget deal comes as conservative leaders advocate for delaying a budget deal until Republicans take over control of the House of Representatives next year.

Over 500,000 voters have cast ballots in Georgia runoff, as poll shows Warnock, Walker tied

More than 500,000 ballots have been cast ahead of Georgia's Dec. 6 Senate runoff election, as a poll released Tuesday showed incumbent Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock tied with Republican challenger Herschel Walker.

Data from the Georgia Secretary of State's Office shows that 503,792 people have voted early so far in the election.

The voter turnout comes after a Georgia judge earlier this month ruled in favor of Warnock, the state's Democrat Party and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee to allow early voting on Saturdays after holidays, including this past Saturday after Thanksgiving Thursday.

While Democratic voters often make up the majority of early voters, a survey taken last week by FrederickPolls, COMPETE Digital and AMMPolitical shows Warnock and Walker tied at 50%.

Additionally, 11% of Kemp-Warnock voters said they will vote for Walker in the runoff.

Warnock beat Walker by less than a percentage point in November, but didn't cross the 50% threshold, resulting in a state-required runoff.

The survey polled 939 likely runoff voters and had a margin of error of 3.1%.

If Walker wins the runoff, the Senate will still be split 50-50, but Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said he would still be happy with the win.

"Fifty is better than 49, and we’re going to give it everything we’ve got,” he told reporters last week, according to The Epoch Times.

US Oil and Gas Association president says Biden's energy policy is 'inconsistent' and 'illiterate'

(Whoa, gloves are off, about time!)

President of the U.S. Oil and Gas Association Tim Stewart says that President Joe Biden's energy policies internationally are inconsistent and are hurting the American economy.

According to Stewart, it would be smart for the Biden administration to rely on the United States for oil and resources instead of other countries like Venezuela.

"The administration views some oil as good and some oil as bad for whatever reason," Stewart said on Monday's edition of the "Just the News, No Noise" TV show. "So investment in a field in Venezuela is fine. But investment in a field in North Dakota or off the Gulf Coast of Louisiana is bad. It's an inconsistent energy policy. Frankly, it's an illiterate energy policy."

Stewart said that Marxism has really corrupted and brought down the oil and gas industry.

"Venezuela used to actually produce 3 million barrels a day until the Marxists took over and then the sanctions followed," Stewart said. "Now they're down to 700,000 barrels a day. The reality is, they're an important producer, but they'll never be a real producer, as long as the Marxists are in control."

According to Stewart, the only way that Venezuela will become a real producer of oil is if Western countries step up and help them.

"The reality is that Venezuela will never ever get to where they need to be until you bring in Western companies with Western technology and expertise," Stewart explained. "What happens is whenever you put sanctions on a country — the Americans and the West pull out and the Russians and the Chinese move in. That's exactly what happened in Venezuela."
