Hypothetical:
Your 10 year old daugter is gang raped and brutally beaten by 10 thugs. A week later, the local pd through extensive research and invetigation arrest 2 perps. One of them rats out another 6 of them to save himself. Your daughter positively identifies 4 of the perps. The 8 perps arrested are all pointing fingers at each other as the leader, again trying to save themselves. All 8 in custody are released without bail. Over the next 5 years, trials are delayed, all the perps have been arrested again for various crimes but remain roaming the streets. You've watched your daughter struggle to live a normal life due to the brain injuries she suffered while watching television news from time to time attempt to blame your daughter for her rape and suggest the perps didn't know what they were doing because they come from a different country with a different culture. Then a month later your daughter, age 15, dies from the injuries of her brutal attack. The DA drops charges on all 8 perps in custody because there is no longer a viable witness.
