Today, God lead me to dig a little on things "Dutch". I realize two of my favorite influencers are Dutch Sheets (prayer) and Dutchsince called "Dutch" who covers seismic activity around the world. Both prayer and earthquakes change the world.
Then I started to think about other things "Dutch". Double dutch is a jump rope game with two jump ropes that has spread world wide but seems to have started getting popularized with Dutch immigrants in NYC. Dutch also refers to the Netherlands where the Pilgrims originated from, though they were English. Today, the Dutch are under unprecedented attack for the simply act of growing their own food.
Remember the Pennsylvania "Dutch"? At the time of the origin of this term it seems that it could refer to people of both Dutch and German heritage. Now it is also often associated with certain religious communities in Pennsylvania although it originally referred to a language, I think.
Embedded at this link is a picture that reminds me of the description of the "boy in the box": http://padutch.net/what-is-pd/ Not that this necessarily has any relationship, but the photo reminded me of the story and it purportedly was taking in 1952 courtesy of National Geographic. Hard to believe that picture is 70 years old. I did not know if it was okay to screen capture.
