I was thinking this morning about something tax related. I did not know a separate issue had already been a notable. I don't think I owe anything to a government that has essentially declared war on me, but aside from that why are we forced to potentially perjure ourselves with a "return"? This is my question.
This came to mind, in part, due to what just happened to Trump and his companies. With the record amount of data and income routinely collected by governments through payrolls and etc I don't think "returns" should exist. I think this is a nod to accountants and also a trap for the "payer".
I guess I'm a wimp because in recent years I have intentionally avoided anything that would have tax consequences except (for a time) a single paid job. This is because I didn't like the complexity. Plus there is a risk of essentially committing perjury or something like it.
I have also, at some inconvenience, returned to using only paper that I filled out myself.
