>Pentagon awards $9 billion in cloud computing deals to Amazon, Google, Microsoft and Oracle
All cloud computing is is open source unix/linux software for virtualization and internet-working that has been closed sourced that may or may not have been altered to provide further vendor lock-in. In it's essence, it is just a bunch of libraries written or rewritten in various languages such as perl, python, bash, ruby, c , lisp, and many of the unix/linux console applications.
That money would have been better spent hiring American programmer who invented 95% of it all, to come together and build these applications out in a more formidable modern language like scala, rust, or x lang.
