President Joe Biden’s approval is underwater on nearly every key issue, a Yahoo!/YouGov survey released this week found. Biden’s overall approval is net negative, as 42 percent of adults approve and 52 percent disapprove. That figure hardly improves among registered voters, as 45 percent approve and 54 percent disapprove. (Tweet)Biden fails to perform much better on key issues facing the country. For instance, Biden has a net -21 percent approval on the economy, as most, 56 percent, disapprove and 35 percent approve. Notably, 40 percent “strongly” disapprove of his handling of the economy, compared to just 12 percent who “strongly” approve.

But in Trump's case, Twitter made an historic decision. They opted to exempt Trump from the protection given to other world leaders. As a result, any violation of terms of service would result in immediate, permanent suspension.

The latest release of the Twitter Files reveal shifting opinions among executives about how to handle the effects of January 6 and the protests. The fourth edition of the Files was released by journalist Michael Shellenberger on Saturday, and went into details on Twitter's changes in decision making on Jan. 7, the day after thousands gathered and rushed the Capitol in an attempt to overturn the 2020 election results. Senior executives at Twitter "create[d] justifications to ban Trump," attempt to "seek a change of policy for Trump alone distinct from other political leaders" and "express[ed] no concern for the free speech or democracy implications of a ban," claims Shellenberger.
