Your DNA is your genetic memory, if you come from a long line of engineers, engineering may come naturally because you don't learn it as much as you unlock it.
I'm of the opinion that what you are still learning or how you behave can translate into your children's DNA in time. DNA is amazing and they understand it better than they'll admit or I can articulate.
