Jonah was angry because he didn't think they would repent; but they did! Then he accused God of forcing him to do a job, whereas God is gracious as Jonah knew he could be.
Don't forget the lesson of the Gourd Plant God caused to grow and shade him, when it died Jonah was sad, God asked him why he had more empathy for the plant than the thousands in Nineveh.
We don't want that attitude, we are required to extend grace to the repentant and deliver the others to God's Justice.
