Has anyone been hearing about 'low salt' (sodium chloride) levels being diagnosed in people?

I've heard of a few, whereas, they had to have it upped, intravenously (1 dead, 1 with a stroke, and 1 OK, so far). It is a very long process as it takes hours, due to a shock in your system.

So I got looking into it, and it appears that to save us from using 'salt' they are using potassium chloride instead of salt in food manufacturing.

It looks like, in 2012, the WHO decided to save us from ourselves, and pressed manufacturers start replacing salt with this, as a substitute.

Potassium chloride is also used used for lethal ejection in Mississipi

Article - April 2020 – based on decisions made 2012

• WHO Member States have agreed to reduce the global population’s intake of salt by a relative 30% by 2025.

• An estimated 2.5 million deaths could be prevented each year if global salt consumption were reduced to the recommended level.

• Potassium is an essential nutrient needed for maintenance of total body fluid volume, acid and electrolyte balance, and normal cell function.

• Potassium is commonly found in a variety of unrefined foods, especially fruits and vegetables.

• Increased potassium intake reduced systolic and diastolic blood pressure in adults.

Potassium Pro® Potassium Chloride was developed to meet the needs of food manufacturers for replacement of sodium chloride, or to provide potassium enrichment in a wide range of food processing applications.

In food, potassium chloride is used to: enhance flavour, increase shelf life of foods, prevent food spoilage / bacterial growth, control pH of foods as well as reduce the sodium content of foods.

As potassium levels rise, sodium levels decrease and vice versa.

The fact that a tablespoon of potassium chloride can be used to commit suicide with should not be underplayed… that is EXTREMELY alarming

the reason why this discussion pique my interest is because I read in a recent article in the Atlantic about lethal injection in the State of Mississippi - and one of the drugs used in the lethal cocktail is cited as Potassium Chloride. Perhaps the good doctor can explain how Potassium Chloride taken orally differs in effect from being administered intravenously?

Never liked salt (until I found Sea Salt) - just use a bit now. Can hardly eat chips or peanuts now - whatever they are putting on it, burns the inside of my mouth - maybe it's a good thing!.
