Fingerprinting

I guess since most browsers and users are able to block third party cookies, this was bound to happen. Anon got a rude awakening today. While noticing (once again) that my browser seemed to think I was in countries other than where my VPN node was, started assessing how even behind a VPN interested third-parties were able to snag my traffic and route it through one their controlled servers before putting it back on the path again. Don't ask how I know this..

My digs produced a technique called fingerprinting that I was vaguely familiar with and had my Brave browser set to Strict anti-fingerprinting, WebGL disabled, all that. Then I tested how effective (or ineffective) this was at:

https://fingerprint.com/demo/

It correctly fingerprinted me on clearnet and using Brave Tor over a VPN. This persisted after closing the session and deep cleaning using CCleaner Pro and trying again.

I was successful at spoofing it using Tor browser and a new identity or session.

Just something else to be aware of…if you need to have your privacy respected. I'm a good one to test this stuff bc I don't drink or do drugs, break the law, or get into sketchy stuff…I just can't stand the thought of some creepy jackass sitting in the room with me. They have the problem, not me.

Also found this site useful: amiunique.org Of course I was unique in over 1.11M tests, so with enough discriminators, it's hard to stealth. At least I learned a few things.

Same reason every interstate highway and many, many state and county roads have DOT cams installed.

It's not to spot accidents. It's to track movement, intercept, and interdict unapproved mobility.

This is going badly fast. It's sadly only obvious to a few. The sheep will comply to the death.
