Having children raises the anxiety level 10 fold. If I was a single male I don’t think I would give a shit. To do your best to raise a child knowing they will have to go out on their own in this world is a tough idea to handle. This situation has definitely been the cause of spiraling on this board. The mindset of single person vs a parent is very different. Focusing all of your energy, love and protection on something other than yourself is an intense experience that can only be understood by being involved in. Or perhaps I’ve been watching to many Christmas movies and I’m all feelz.

Some truth to your commit but the most important part of my rant was nurturing, loving and protecting something other than yourself. I suppose you could argue that some parents think they are protecting their children by using the mask, nurturing them by sending them to public school, etc.. And though misguided in my opinion they still had to consider something other than themself. Seems this is atleast a seed of compassion towards others which I feel can be missed on those that aren’t put in this situation.
Certainly there are nurturing, loving and protecting people that never have children. But with most things, first hand experience can’t be imagined or read about.
Is surrendering to something greater than yourself the answer to a moral society? Can there be good people that have never embraced a religion?
I’ve embraced Jesus. I have trouble understanding God though. But do you think not even one soul that hasn’t embraced God is good?
