Yes. It's excellent for a lot of things, and enhances your mood as well.

Anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, anti-bacterial. Saved my mother's life from pneumonia. Cured me of RA. Amazing. Look at others like maitake, cordyceps. For lyme I would also try NIR light therapy/sauna.

Yes. Mushrooms do attract heavy metals, so you do need to detox every once in a while. But they are incredible, no other adverse side effects. Very complex, the chinese have known this for years

I suggest the "Host Defense" brand of mushrooms (can get at Whole foods/amazon, vitamin shop)
