New Attack Hit Key U.S. Base In Syria

Late on December 17, an indirect fire attack targeted the United States-led coalition Green Village base in the Syrian governorate of Deir Ezzor, according to Sputnik.

The Russian news agency said that several projectiles hit the large base, which is located within al-Omar oil fields in the southeastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. Explosions rocked the base and its vicinity. However, no casualties were reported. Several fighter jets and drone of the coalition were spotted over the Green Village after the alleged attack.

The U.S.-led coalition has not commented on Sputnik’s report, yet. Usually, the coalition confirms any attack on its bases in Syria within 24 hours.

The alleged attack came after a series of Israeli strikes that targeted a Syrian radar base in the southeastern al-Suwayda countryside on December 11 and reports of aerial attacks on the government-held towns of al-Mayadin and al-Bukamal in the southern Deir Ezzor countryside on December 15 and 16.

In November, the Green Village base came under attack on two occasions. Both attacks took place just days after Israeli strikes on Syria. The ywere unofficially blamed on armed factions affiliated with the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

The recent increase in attacks on U.S. troops in Syria was explained by a recent The New York Times report, which revealed that Damascus and its allies in the so-called “Axis of Resistance” have agreed to respond to Israel’s repeated attacks by targeting coalition bases in Syria.

European Union Reaches Agreement to Force Everyone in EU Countries to Pay for CO2 Emissions – First Step of Personal Carbon Credit System

The European countries and EU are now stepping up their efforts to push the WEF’s agenda.

The Gateway Pundit previously reported that more British cities promoted a new scheme to ban privately-owned vehicles into certain areas without permits to reduce traffic and “help tackle climate change,” protesters called it “climate lockdown.”

On Sunday morning, members of the European Parliament and the governments of the European Union reached an agreement to reform the Emissions Trading System (ETS) in order to increase investments in climate-friendly technology and further cut industrial emissions.

This means everyone in European Union countries will have to pay for CO2 emissions. The funds will then be used to tackle climate change.

EU’s climate goal for 2030, is to cut net emissions by 55% before bringing them down to zero by 2050.

“I am pleased that a balanced agreement has been reached on the largest climate legislation package in the EU ever,” said Esther de Lange (CDA) MEP, who is responsible for the coordination of the Green Deal and chief negotiator on the Social Climate Fund.

“This deal will provide a huge contribution towards fighting climate change,” said Peter Liese, a German lawmaker who steered negotiations on behalf of the European Parliament.

Under the terms of the agreement, to ensure parity between the carbon prices paid for EU products operating under the EU Emissions Trading System (ETS) and those for imported goods, the parties have agreed to establish an EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), according to Dutch news outlet NOS.

This means companies from outside Europe will have to pay for their CO2 emissions, just like European companies.

NATO announces military exercise in Kosovo

The drills come as the Western military bloc ramps up its presence in the province

NATO’s mission in Kosovo announced on Sunday that it will hold “tactical” military exercises in the coming days. The announcement came amid tensions between Kosovo’s Western-backed government and the province’s Serbian minority.

Kosovo Force (KFOR) “will conduct a regular military exercise near its base in Novo Selo,” the mission announced via its Twitter account. “The exercise aims to train KFOR units to guarantee freedom of movement in a crisis response situation & it will consist [of] a series of tactical simulations & logistic activities.”

“Freedom of movement” may be a reference to the removal of barricades, which Kosovo’s Serb minority erected around their communities earlier this month to protect against incursion by the majority-Albanian province’s security forces.

The barricades went up after Kosovo police arrested a Serb officer last week, accusing him of attacking one of their patrols. As tensions between Pristina and Belgrade flared, ethnic Albanian officials replaced their Serbian counterparts in North Mitrovica, the largest Serb-majority municipality in the north of Kosovo. Previously, all Serb List party members, who had enjoyed a landslide election victory, resigned from their posts in protest at Pristina’s now-defunct plan to outlaw Serbian license plates in Kosovo.

On Thursday, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic asked for KFOR’s permission to deploy up to 1,000 Serbian troops and police officers in Kosovo, as it is entitled to do under UN Security Council Resolution 1244. This resolution, which ended NATO’s bombing campaign on former Yugoslavia in 1999, allows Belgrade to send its military and police personnel to Kosovo in certain situations, including if the “peaceful and normal life” of its population there is threatened.

While KFOR has yet to respond to Vucic’s request, it told US state media on Friday that it is “currently evaluating” the proposal. Meanwhile, KFOR announced an expansion of its own deployment in northern Kosovo on Saturday.

Kosovo, which unilaterally declared independence from Serbia in 2008, has been occupied by NATO forces since 1999.

North Korea Fires 2 Ballistic Missiles, South Korea Condemns Tensions

North Korea fired two ballistic missiles towards the sea off the Korean Peninsula’s east coast on Sunday, said South Korea and Japan, prompting South Korea‘s presidential office to “strongly condemned” Pyongyang for escalating tensions.

South Korea‘s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said the two medium-range missiles flew about 500 kilometers (311 miles).

Japan’s Vice Defence Minister Toshiro Ino said the missiles seemed to have landed outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ) and there had been no report of damages.

“North Korea‘s ballistic missiles were launched at steep angles and landed in the East Sea,” South Korea‘s JCS said in a statement.

“South Korean and the United States intelligence authorities are conducting a thorough analysis, factoring recent trends related to North Korea‘s missile development.”

South Korea convened a National Security Council (NSC) meeting over North Korea‘s missile launch and “strongly condemned” for escalating tensions on the Korean Peninsula, South Korea‘s presidential office said in a statement.

The presidential office added that the North’s continued provocations and development of nuclear weapons and missiles would further endanger the North Korean regime.

The North’s missile launch comes just days after the country tested a high-thrust solid-fuel engine that experts said would allow quicker and more mobile launch of ballistic missiles, as it seeks to develop a new strategic weapon and speed up its nuclear and missile programmes.

The test, overseen by leader Kim Jong Un, was conducted on Thursday at North Korea‘s Sohae Satellite Launching Ground which has been used to test missile technologies, including rocket engines and space launch vehicles, the official KCNA news agency reported on Friday.

North Korea has conducted an unprecedented number of missile tests this year, including an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) capable of reaching the U.S. mainland, despite international bans and sanctions.

In November, North Korea test-fired an ICMB that Japanese officials said had sufficient range to reach the mainland of the United States and that landed just 200 kilometers (130 miles) off Japan.

Japan on Friday unveiled its biggest military build-up since World War Two with a $320 billion plan that will buy missiles capable of striking communist China and ready it for sustained conflict.

SHAMELESS: Military Industrial Complex Laughs in America’s Face As They Throw Party for Ukrainian Forces

For decades, DC politicians have waged war while military contractors have collected billions in profits. Rarely has this symbiotic relationship been displayed in such a flagrant manner, however.

Vox reported Saturday that the nation’s biggest defense contractors threw a huge celebration in “honor” of the Ukrainian military. The location, the Ronald Reagan and International Trade Center, is less than a mile from the White House.

One notable attendee at the party was Mark “White Rage” Milley. When not advocating for critical race theory on the military, he rubs elbows with America’s top war profiteers.

The attendees laughed at the American people as they partied.

Receiving $68 billion in one year will make you feel quite shameless. Especially when the US government will soon send billions more your way.

This party also comes as over 200,000 Ukrainian and Russian soldiers have perished with thousands more civilians killed and missing. The nation’s military elite are partying while Ukraine falls apart.

Smedley D. Butler aptly described this amoral policymaking in his famous book War Is a Racket. He penned these lasting words:

“War is a racket. It always has been. It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives.”

“A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small ‘inside’ group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few people make huge fortunes.”

America needs a majority of politicians in Washington willing to make war unprofitable for the military industrial complex. Sadly, no money exists for peace.
