Washington Governor Jay Inslee Proposes Using Taxpayer Money to Train People to Kill Babies in Abortions

Governor Jay Inslee (D-WA) intends to allocate $15 million in public funds to extend access to abortion and train more people to kill more babies for abortion in his proposed budget for 2023–2025.

The proposed budget for 2023-2035 that Inslee released on Wednesday will be presented to the Legislature for consideration but is not binding on lawmakers, according to Dailyfly.

“$7,407,000 of the general fund—state appropriation for fiscal year 2024 and $7,603,000 of the general fund—state appropriation for fiscal year 2025 is provided solely to provide reimbursement for abortion services to providers of abortion care, to provide funding for travel costs for abortion care, including but not limited to childcare and meals, and to provide grants to public four year higher education institutions that offer advanced degree programs in nursing, medicine, and pharmacy to develop and offer abortion care training,” according to the proposed budget.

In a statement released with the proposed budget on Wednesday, the governor described it as putting housing, homelessness, and behavioral health as its top priorities.

“Unfortunately, we no longer have the influx of federal funding we are using today to quickly build thousands of new supportive housing units for people experiencing homelessness,” Inslee said. “I don’t want to lose momentum, and I don’t want the problem to get worse because we aren’t moving fast enough.”

If approved, his budget would use state tax dollars to “provide reimbursement for abortion services” to abortion facilities for travel, meals, childcare and other expenses for pregnant women who choose to abort their unborn babies, according to the report.

Additional money would be used to create grants for public colleges to encourage more student nurses, doctors and pharmacists to become abortionists, the report continues.

The state legislature must approve the budget, but pro-abortion Democrats control both houses in Washington state, so they likely will support the new abortion funding.

Inslee’s budget is very similar to those of other Democrat leaders in California, Oregon, and New York.

Now, 14 states are enforcing pro-life laws that prohibit or strictly limit the killing of unborn babies in abortions, and eight others are fighting in court to do the same. Researchers estimate up to 10,000 unborn babies already have been saved from abortion since these laws went into effect this summer, and hundreds of thousands more are expected to be saved from death in the coming years.

Explosion rocks major Russian gas pipeline

Three people have died in the incident in Central Russia, with at least one injured, local authorities say

An explosion has rocked a pipeline in Russia’s Chuvash Republic several hundred kilometers east of Moscow, causing a major fire, local officials said. The incident along the route, which is used to transport energy to Europe, killed at least three people and injured another one, while prompting gas prices in Europe to soar.

The local administration’s press service said the blast occurred along the Urengoy-Pomary-Uzhgorod pipeline. It added that the operating company had been conducting maintenance work on the conduit before the fire broke out.

Of the three dead and one injured, “all of them were working on the gas pipeline,” local emergency services confirmed.

The regional directorate of Russia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations said earlier that the fire was caused by a gas leak at an underground pipeline close to the village of Yambahtino. It added that it had sent several fire-fighting crews to the scene.

Oleg Nikolaev, the head of the Chuvash Republic, noted that the pipeline was used to deliver energy to Europe, and now it has been blocked off from two sides.

Videos posted on social media showed a large pillar of fire towering over nearby buildings. The Mash Telegram channel reported that locals said temperatures near the scene were so hot they were unable to approach their homes.

The incident prompted gas prices in Europe to spike, exceeding $1,250 per one thousand cubic meters, according to data from the ICE exchange. The pipeline serves as a route for transporting natural gas from Western Siberia to Europe via Ukraine.

The 4,500 km conduit crosses the border between the two countries in Kursk Region at the town of Sudzha, which remains the only point through which the gas is still flowing to Europe via Ukraine amid fighting between Moscow’s and Kiev’s forces.

Lawmakers have come to a $1.7 trillion deal to avoid a government shutdown ahead of Friday’s deadline that includes a boost to defense spending, a ban on TikTok, and the largest amount of cash assistance to the Ukraine yet.

The measure includes $44.9 billion for the Ukraine – the biggest amount to date and well above President Joe Biden’s $37 billion request.

The move ensures that funding will flow to the embattled nation for months to come amid questions about whether Republicans, who take control of the House on January 3rd, would continue financial assistance.

Also in the package is a measure to reform Electoral Count Act of 1887 – a revision that reaffirms that the vice president has only a ceremonial role in counting electoral college votes and raises the threshold necessary for members of Congress to object to a state’s electors.

Lawmakers have been working frantically to meet Friday’s deadline or face a partial government shutdown over Christmas. The bill, which runs for 4,155 pages, had its details released shortly before 2 a.m. on Tuesday.

One Killed in Ukrainian Shelling of Russia’s Belgorod Region

The region's governor said eight more people were wounded and a poultry farm was damaged

One civilian was killed, another eight people were wounded, and a poultry farm was damaged in Ukrainian shelling in Russia’s Belgorod Oblast, the region’s governor said on Sunday.

“One person died. It is known that the man came to us from Tambov and worked as a contractor on the construction of a poultry farm,” Belgorod Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov wrote on Telegram.

Belgorod borders Ukraine and has come under attack throughout the war. Sunday’s shelling came after The Times reported that the Pentagon now tacitly backs Ukrainian strikes inside Russian territory, although there’s no indication US weapons were used in the attack on Belgorod.

When the US provided the HIMARS rocket launch systems to Ukraine, the Biden administration said it received “assurances” that Ukrainian forces won’t use them inside Russian territory. But the US no longer appears to be concerned about how the weapons are used.

“When we give them a weapon system, it belongs to them, where they use it, how they use it, how much ammunition they use to use that system. I mean, those are Ukrainian decisions, and we respect that,” National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said last week.

The Times report said that the US was no longer concerned about Ukrainian attacks inside Russia leading to a major escalation based only on the fact that Moscow hasn’t yet responded with nuclear weapons or attacks on NATO countries.

White House Can't Mandate COVID Jabs For Federal Contractors: Appeals Court

A federal appeals court on Monday struck down a White House rule requiring anyone employed by a federal contractor to be vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of government contracts.

A three-panel judge of the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals voted 2-1 to affirm a lower court judgment that barred President Joe Biden’s September 2021 executive order in three states after Louisiana, Indiana, and Mississippi sued to challenge the rule.

These three states sued the Biden administration in the Western District of Louisiana in their capacities as federal contractors themselves, winning an injunction and stay by the district court.

In upholding the lower court finding, Judge Kurt Engelhardt, an appointee of former President Donald Trump, said in his majority opinion (pdf) that a broad interpretation of the law could have given Biden “nearly unlimited authority to introduce requirements into federal contracts.”

He illustrated his point by saying that Biden could “hypothetically” mandate that all third-party federal contractors’ employees reduce their BMI (body mass index) below a certain number based “on the theory that obesity is a primary contributor to unhealthiness and absenteeism.”

The U.S. government has contracts with hundreds of third-party contractors, and judges have indicated that the issue might affect up to 20 percent of American employees.

Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita touted the ruling as a legal victory against what he called President Joe Biden’s executive overreach.

Rokita, who joined with two other plaintiff states in the legal action, decried Biden’s “truly unprecedented” use of the federal Procurement Act to wield executive power to impose the mandate on third-party contractors.

State AGs Sound The Alarm About BlackRock, Vanguard Buying Large Stakes In Utilities

The acquisition by investment managers BlackRock and Vanguard of ever-increasing shares in America’s public utility companies is setting off alarm bells from conservatives and progressives alike.

In April, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) approved a request from BlackRock to increase its ownership up to 20 percent of a public utility’s voting shares without being deemed an “affiliate” and incurring the regulatory scrutiny and disclosures that come with that. To gain FERC approval, BlackRock and Vanguard promised they would be “passive” investors and not use their share ownership to influence management.

Because utilities are often monopolies in the regions they serve and because electricity and heating are essential in people’s lives, any investment of more than $10 million in a public utility must be approved by FERC, according to the Federal Power Act (FPA). BlackRock and Vanguard received blanket approval in 2019 to surpass this limit for three years, and BlackRock was just given blanket approval for another three years. Now Vanguard is seeking FERC approval on similar terms, but their request is sparking protests.

In November, 13 state attorneys general petitioned FERC to deny Vanguard’s request. Claiming that residents of their states could be harmed if utilities are compelled to stop using fossil fuels in favor of wind and solar power, the attorneys general argued that “Vanguard is not entitled to a blanket authorization to acquire substantial equity and voting power in utility companies.”

“Vanguard’s own public commitments and other statements have at the very least created the appearance that Vanguard has breached its promises to the commission by engaging in environmental activism and using its financial influence to manipulate the activities of the utility companies in its portfolio,” the petition stated. “A hearing in this matter is warranted to determine the extent to which Vanguard has violated the 2019 authorization and whether granting Vanguard a blanket authorization is contrary to the public interest.”

While voting to approve BlackRock’s request, FERC Commissioner Mark Christie stated: “The claim that huge asset managers such as BlackRock, State Street, and Vanguard are merely passive investors in publicly held corporations, investing purely for the benefit of their beneficiaries—many of whom are retirees receiving pensions—is no longer credible.

“BlackRock, in particular, has been openly aggressive in using its massive financial power to influence corporate policy in areas far attenuated from the legitimate money-management goals of protecting the incomes and investment interests of its beneficiaries,” Christie said.

Charlie Munger, Warren Buffet’s partner and vice chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, concurred, stating in February that “we have a new bunch of emperors, and they’re the people who vote the shares in the index funds. I think the world of [BlackRock CEO] Larry Fink, but I’m not sure I want him to be my emperor.”

“The association is also actively involved in negotiations on the range of services provided by statutory health insurance companies and the remuneration of doctors. Furthermore, the KBV carries out a “security mandate” in accordance with Section 75 (1) SGB V, which is intended to ensure that all legally insured patients can receive adequate outpatient care.”

The government agency responsible with assessing the risks of vaccination apparently did not inquire about this information, as stated during the news conference.

“According to Section 13 of the Infection Protection Act, the Robert Koch Institute and the Paul Ehrlich Institute have to evaluate diagnosis codes from the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KBV) at reqular intervals in order to determine vaccination effects. But since the beginning of the corona vaccinations, this data has neither been requested nor evaluated.”

“After numerous inquiries in recent months, the KBV data (period: 2016 to the first quarter of 2022) are available to our health policy spokesman, Martin Sichert,” according to the website.

‘Scientists lie to get huge grants’: Gain-of-function research has never contributed to vaccine development, scientists say

Risky gain-of-function research has never been necessary or beneficial for vaccine development, but it has allowed scientists to collect large taxpayer-funded grants, numerous scientists told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

In virology, gain-of-function research typically involves modifying pathogens to be more infectious and lethal.

While the recent COVID outbreak cannot be verifiably and indisputably traced back to gain-of-function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the controversy has encouraged more scientists to speak out against the risky experimentation.

Additionally, other confirmed lab leaks have resulted in unnecessary and avoidable outbreaks, including an anthrax leak that infected 10 American researchers in 2014 and a smallpox leak that infected Birmingham, England, residents in 1978.

Supporters of the dangerous research argue that it aids in vaccine development and allows scientists to have an edge in preventing future virus outbreaks. Critics insist that the medical benefits of gain-of-function research have never been actualized but remain only “theoretical.”

Dr. Hideki Kakeya, an engineering professor at Japan’s University of Tsukuba, told the DCNF, “As far as I know, they are all theoretical and no beneficial examples in the real world exist.”

“There is a slim chance of GoF contributing to therapeutics in the real world. It’s often the case that scientists lie to get huge grants,” Kakeya added.

Physicist Roland Wiesendanger, who specializes in nanoscience, echoed Kakeya’s concern that scientists involved in gain-of-function research received significant financial benefits.

“I am not aware of any specific benefits for the general public that have come from gain-of-function research on dangerous pathogens,” Wiesendanger stated. “There are only benefits for the scientists performing such risky research because they get a lot of taxpayers’ money for that.”

Rutgers University microbiologist Richard Ebright told the DCNF, “Gain-of-function research of concern has no — zero — civilian practical applications.”

“In particular, gain-of-function research of concern is not needed for, and does not contribute to, the development of vaccines and drugs,” Ebright continued.

According to Ebright, pharmaceutical companies are not interested in investing the large sums of money necessary to develop treatments for a virus that does not yet exist. Instead, companies focus resources on therapeutics for pathogens already impacting the public to ensure there will be demand for their product.

“Developing a therapeutic can cost up to a billion $. No one would do this for a synthetic virus that only exists in a lab,” stated Valentin Bruttel, an immunologist at the University of Wuerzburg in Germany. “The mRNA vaccine platforms were developed for other diseases and then adapted within days, so there is not even much time that can be saved by these extremely dangerous experiments.”

How the 'Experts' Silenced Their Critics and the Lockdowns Made Us Sicker

… it’s time we get clear on some basics.

Early during lockdowns in 2020, when the whole of the media marched in lockstep with the most appalling reach of public policy in our lifetimes, two doctors from Bakersfield, California went out on a limb and objected.

Their names: Dan Erikson and Artin Massihi from Accelerated Urgent Care. They held a press conference in which they claimed that lockdowns would only delay but not finally control the virus. Moreover, they predicted, at the end of this, we would also be sicker than ever because of our lack of exposure to endemic pathogens.

You could say they were brave but why should it require bravery simply to share conventional wisdom that is part of every medical background? Indeed, the idea that reducing exposure to pathogens creates more vulnerability to disease is a point every generation in the last hundred years has learned in school.

How well I can recall the outrage! They were treated like seditious cranks and new media blasted their comments as somehow radically heterodox, even though they said nothing I had not learned in 9th-grade biology class. It was utterly bizarre how quickly lockdowns became an orthodoxy, enforced, as we are now learning, by media and tech platforms working closely with government agencies to warp public perceptions of science.

Among those warpings was an incredible blackout concerning the basics of natural immunity. My goodness, why did this happen? It’s not conspiracy to draw an obvious reason: they wanted to sell a vaccine. And they wanted to push the idea that Covid was universally deadly for everyone so that they could justify their “whole-of-society” approach to lockdowns.

Isn’t it time to give these doctors some credit and perhaps regret their vicious treatment at the hands of the press?

Meanwhile, it’s time we get clear on some basics. There is no one better to lay it out other than the greatest living theoretical epidemiologist, Sunetra Gupta. I think one way to understand her contribution is to see her as the Voltaire or the Adam Smith of infectious disease. The very essence of liberal political economy and liberal theory generally from the Age of Enlightenment to the present is the observation that society manages itself. It does not need a top-down plan and the attempt to centrally plan the economy or culture always produces unintended consequences.

So too for the issue of infectious disease. Dr. Gupta’s observation is that we evolved with pathogens in a delicate dance in which we share the same ecosphere, both suffering and benefiting from our entanglement with them. Disturbing that balance can wreck the immune system and leave us more vulnerable and sicker than ever before.

Stanford university releases list of 'harmful language' it plans to eliminate or replace, including 'American,' 'he,' and 'brave'

Stanford University has identified a list of words and phrases that it will soon be removing from its websites. "American," "he," "straight," and "gentlemen" are among the forbidden words listed in the school's index of so-called "harmful language."

What are the details?

Stanford claims on its website that "freedom of speech is core to the mission of academic life of our university."

Marc Tessier-Lavigne, the university's president, previously alleged that besides threats of harm, disruptive speech, and unlawful harassment, "we do not otherwise restrict speech in our community, including speech that some may find objectionable."

It is now apparent that where official communications are concerned at the university, common words and idioms that conflict conceptually with LGBT and identitarian activists' agendas are not to be used freely.

The Wall Street Journal noted that administrators have embraced the recommendations of the so-called "Elimination of Harmful Language Initiative" and published a master list of forbidden words.

According to the university, the EHLI "is one of the actions prioritized in the Statement of Solidarity and Commitment to Action, which was published by the Stanford CIO Council and People of Color in Technology (POC-IT) affinity group in December 2020."

The terms listed in the censors' index are reportedly "in alignment" with those used by similarly censorious peer institutions, including Brandeis University and the National Science Foundation's Extreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment project.

The forbidden words

Although the university, facing scrutiny, password-protected the EHLI's list and hid it from public view, the Journal obtained a copy.

The forbidden terms on the EHLI list are grouped into the following categories: "Ableist, Ageism, Culturally Appropriative, Gender-based, Imprecise Language, Institutionalized Racism, Person-First, and Violent."

Terms deemed unfit for use that do not fall into the above categories are classed under "Additional Considerations."

Among the verboten words cited on the "Ableist" master list along with the preferred substitutes are:

"addict," to be replaced with "person with a substance use disorder";

President Trump Skewers ‘Unselect’ J6 Committee ‘Communists’ After Unconstitutional ‘Referral’ to DOJ

President Trump held nothing back in a series of posts he made to Truth Social, following the announcement from Nancy Pelosi’s “unselect” J6 committee that they’d unconstitutionally “referred” President Trump to Biden’s DOJ for prosecution, with the express purpose of stopping his 2024 run.

“These folks don’t get it that when they come after me, people who love freedom rally around me,” President Trump wrote in a statement on the J6 committee’s DOJ referral, which he posted to Truth Social.

“It strengthens me,” President Trump went on. “What doesn’t kill me makes me stronger. Americans know that I pushed for 20,000 troops to prevent violence on Jan 6, and that I went on television and told everyone to go home,” President Trump explained, before calling out the FBI’s political motivations by dubbing them the “DBI.”

“The people understand that the Democratic Bureau of Investigation, the DBI, are out to keep me from running for president because they know I’ll win and that this whole business of prosecuting me is just like impeachment was – a partisan attempt to sideline me and the Republican Party.”

“I see where the Unselect Committee, using the Democrats’ favorite weapon, DISINFORMATION, is trying to make the case that I didn’t really believe I won the election,” President Trump wrote in a later statement, still skewering Pelosi’s hyper-partisan J6 committee.

“This is a total LIE,” he continued. “I never thought, for even a moment, that the Presidential Election of 2020 was not Rigged & Stolen, and my conviction became even stronger as time went by.”

Thousands Reported Without Power After 6.4 Earthquake Strikes Offshore California

A strong 6.4-magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of northern California on Tuesday, the U.S. Geological Survey said, leaving thousands without power.

The earthquake, which struck at 2:34 a.m. (1034 GMT), was about 10 miles (16.1 km) deep, USGS said, and struck about 7.4 (12 km) west-southwest of Ferndale, California, a Humboldt County town about a four-hour drive north of San Francisco.

Local media and others on social media reported there were numerous gas leaks, powerlines down, and at least one structure fire in Ferndale. A representative from the Humboldt Sheriff’s Office was not immediately available for comment.

Local media reported that the California highway patrol was responding to reports of cracks in the Ferndale bridge over the Eel River in and out of Ferndale.

“That earthquake was insane,” said Twitter user Jimmy Eller, who said he lived in Humboldt County. “A good 15-20 seconds of shaking.”

Caroline Titus, the editor and publisher of The Ferndale Enterprise, posted video on Twitter of toppled furniture and household items scattered on the floor.

“Sorry for dark video. Power still out,” Titus said in a tweet.

More than 64,000 homes and businesses were without power early Tuesday in Ferndale and surrounding Humboldt County, according to the electric grid tracking website Poweroutageus.com. Ferndale is home to about 15,000 people and 261 miles (420 km) north of San Francisco and just south of Eureka.

The California Independent System Operator, which oversees much of the state’s electrical grid, issued a transmission emergency notice for the area following the earthquake.

There was no risk of a tsunami, the U.S. tsunami warning system said.

FBI got Top Secret clearances for Twitter execs to quash Biden story

Bureau had zero evidence of Russian 'disinformation'

The FBI worked with the intelligence community to pressure Twitter and other social media and news media to censor the New York Post's revelations of Joe Biden's knowledge of his family's influence-peddling operation while lacking any evidence of a purported Russian "disinformation" operation.

Factual information about the foreign business dealings was discredited by the FBI and the IC both after and before the Post's blockbuster Oct. 14, 2020, story, according to the seventh Twitter Files release, reported by journalist Michael Shellenberger on Monday.

Significantly, in July 2020, the FBI's Elvis Chan – assistant special agent in charge at the office in San Francisco, where Twitter is headquartered – arranged for temporary Top Secret security clearances for Twitter executives to enable the FBI to share information about "threats" to the upcoming elections.

Further, the latest release of internal communications revealed, the FBI paid Twitter at least $3.4 million for its work.

Shellenberger recalled that Twitter Files No. 6, released Friday, showed the FBI had a system in place in which it had "constant and pervasive" contact with Twitter executives, acting as if it were a "subsidiary" of the social-media giant.

The seventh release recounts the FBI's involvement with the laptop, beginning in December 2019, when Delaware computer store owner John Paul Mac Isaac contacted the bureau after discovering evidence of criminal activity on Hunter Biden's abandoned machine. The FBI took the computer and launched an investigation. But by August, Mac Issac had not heard back from the FBI, and he emailed Rudy Giuliani, President Trump's personal lawyer at the time, who was under FBI surveillance. In early October, Giuliani gave the contents of the hard drive to the Post.

During all of 2020, the FBI and other law enforcement agencies repeatedly primed Twitter to dismiss reports of the laptop as a Russian "hack and leak" operation, as Yoel Roth, head of trust and safety for Twitter at the time, stated in a sworn declaration in December 2020.

The FBI did the same to Facebook, according to CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

Yet, as Chan has admitted, the FBI warnings of a Russian hack-and-leak operation were not based on any new intelligence.

Texas Governor Deploys 400 National Guardsmen to El Paso Border Crisis

Texas Governor Greg Abbott ordered the deployment of 400 National Guardsmen to El Paso. They are ordered to provide additional security measures in the increasing humanitarian crisis where migrants are sleeping on the streets of El Paso in freezing conditions.

The Texas Military Department tweeted photos of two C-130J aircraft arriving in El Paso with approximately 400 National Guard soldiers. The stated mission for the deployment is to assist in “deterring illegal migrants from Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico, into the United States.”

Ukraine's Azov Regiment visits Israel: 'Mariupol is our Masada'

Azov officer Ilya Samoilenko, one of the defenders of the Azovstal steelworks in Mariupol, led the delegation to Israel.

A delegation from Ukraine's Azov Regiment visited Israel in recent days, meeting with officials and IDF reservists and speaking about the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The delegation arrived in Israel on Thursday and was led by Azov officer Ilya Samoilenko, one of the soldiers who barricaded themselves beneath the Azovstal steelworks during attempts to protect Mariupol from the Russian invasion earlier this year. Joining him in leading the delegation was Yuliya Fedosyuk, deputy head of the Association of Azovstal Defenders' Families.

Samoilenko was taken prisoner by Russia after weeks under siege in the Azvostal steelworks and was released in a prisoner swap in September.

The delegation came to Israel to advocate for members of the Azov Regiment who are still being held as prisoners, to speak about the defense of the Azovstal plant in Mariupol and to counter Russian reports and statements about the regiment and the ongoing war.

The visit was initiated by the Israeli Friends of Ukraine organization and with the support of the Ukrainian Embassy in Israel and the Nadav Foundation.

On Saturday, the delegation visited Masada, where some of the last Jewish rebels held out against the Roman army in 73 CE.

"The feat of the Mariupol defenders in 2022 shocked the whole world," said the delegation. "In this fierce resistance to the Russian occupation, various peoples of the world saw parallels with various episodes of their own history, comparing the Ukrainian heroes of today with their heroes of the past. All of them had one thing in common - an uncompromising, sometimes doomed struggle for their independence. The rank of people who, in the battle for their freedom, sacrifice everything, permeates the entirety of history."

The Azov delegation additionally participated in screenings of a documentary about the siege of Mariupol called "The Untold Truth About Mariupol," which records the stories of people who were sent to Russian "filtration camps" after the siege and experienced torture, harsh interrogations and even had their children abducted from them. The film, produced by the BIHUS team of journalists and attorneys, was screened in Tel Aviv and Haifa this week.

After the screenings, Samoilenko spoke about Russia's actions during the siege of Mariupol and about Ukrainian soldiers who fought alongside him who are still being held by Russia.

Anna Zharova, a founder of Israeli Friends of Ukraine, called the delegation's visit the organization's "most important project since the beginning of the war."

He then alleges that ‘anti-science’ has become a ‘political movement.’
