Nunes accuses DOJ of seeking blackmail material during Russia probe after bombshell revelation
Legal expert Alan Dershowitz says DOJ use of subpoenas to target House Intelligence Committee staff phone and email records is likely unconstitutional.
The former House Intelligence Committee chairman is suggesting the Justice Department illegally spied on him and possibly sought blackmail material after a bombshell revelation that federal prosecutors used grand jury subpoenas five years ago to get the phone and email records of his top investigators during the congressional probe that unraveled the now-disproven Russia collusion narrative.
"This is, I believe, unprecedented spying in modern political history at this point, and just sad that it's taken us almost six years to discover it," retired Rep. Devin Nunes said Monday night after Just the News reported that DOJ demanded Google turn over personal email and phone data from at least two senior Intelligence Committee lawyers working for Nunes.

The subpoenas were served on Nov. 20, 2017 during a critical time frame in the committee's effort to expose the Donald Trump-Russia collusion investigation as having been driven by an uncorroborated political opposition dossier funded by Hillary Clinton. Nunes' committee was locked at the time in a bitter struggle to force the FBI and DOJ to turn over records to the committee.
"I think they probably were spying on quite a few of my staff," Nunes told the "Just the News, No Noise" television show. "The only reason they would possibly be doing that is because we caught the DOJ and the FBI coordinating with the Democratic Party in 2016 … in order to spy on the Trump campaign and the Republican Party …
"Lo and behold, at about the same time as as we are investigating them for illegal spying, they go to a grand jury to get what I would call an illegal warrant or subpoena just to target me when I was part of the legislative branch at the time — remember, I'm chairman of the Intelligence Committee at the time.
"Clearly what they are doing … is targeting me to figure out what do we know, how do we know it, and how do we learn it, what are we going to do with the information And secondly, most likely, to look for anything that they could potentially blackmail us on."
The extraordinary intrusion on congressional oversight belatedly came to light in the last few days when the former committee staffers were informed by Google that their records had been taken back in late 2018, consistent with the Big Tech company's policy of alerting customers five years after law enforcement takes such actions.

The revelation drew immediate condemnation in legal and political circles.
Harvard University law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz told Just the News that while more information needs to be learned the subpoenas raised serious concerns about the separation of powers between Congress and the executive branch.

100 former employees accuse Twitter of legal violations, including gender discrimination
100 former employees of Twitter Inc. have been accused of legal wrong-doing as lawsuits continue to mount following Elon Musk's purchase of the platform, after which he implemented mass layoffs.
Allegations include the targeting of women for layoffs along with failing to pay promised severance, according to Reuters.
The former employees will likely be barred from participating in class action lawsuits after signing legal agreements to bring their disputes against the company into arbitration as opposed to court, according to Shannon Liss-Riordan, who represents the workers.
However, the claims are said to be similar to four existing lawsuits against the company.
"The conduct of Twitter since Musk took over is incredibly egregious, and we will pursue every avenue to protect workers and extract from Twitter the compensation that is due to them," Liss-Riordan said.
Sex discrimination, breach of contract, and illegal termination of employees are some of the accusations levied against Twitter; the latter of which alleges employees who were on medical or parental leave were also let go.
In early November 2022, an employee alleged that he was fired assisting others who were laid off.
In mid-November 2022, a disabled person took up litigation against the company for Elon Musk's very public stance on banning remote work.
A lawsuit in early December 2022 claimed that Twitter targeted women for layoffs. As mentioned, this lawsuit is different from the legal complaints made by the 100 employees.
Twitter cut 3,700 employees after Musk's acquisition of the platform, sparking resignations from hundreds more. It was reported that 360 employees formed a private group called "voluntary-layoff" on Slack, the work group-chat platform.
Musk was the subject of digital smears on the side of the San Francisco Twitter headquarters after his purchase, labeling him a "apartheid profiteer," "lawless oligarch," as well as an "insecure colonizer" and more.

According to a report by Truth Talk UK, BlackRock lists the World Economic Forum as one of its “key diversity partners,” which promotes mandatory vaccinations and lockdowns, abortion access, and the globalist “Great Reset.” As part of the elites’ global reset, humanity is being forced to rely on all things digital.
