It's a similar "Matrix-like" "world isn't what you see" world: people go on a "space mission" but they're really just in e.g. the elevator at Epcot Center – screens outside the craft project images, the ground shakes and moves to make them feel like they're in thrust etc.
Then someone dies, and they have to figure out whether to end the experiment or not.
Interesting mini-series.
Might be worth watching again, to find new parallels/connections/meanings.
