Does a symbol really change because of who tries to use it?
Does a symbol for the sun lose its meaning just because a group of people we were opposed to rallied under it?
The sun can be a hot and scorching thing, or a nurturing embrace against the cold. Many symbols hold a power that is their own. That is why weak people try to use the power of symbols to give themselves meaning and authority. Rarely are those perverse desires not rationalized under the banner of some symbol presented as some grand cosmic revelation.
