New Jersey School District Reinstates COVID Mask Mandate

A school district in northern New Jersey confirmed this week it would reinstate its COVID-19 mask mandate starting Wednesday, drawing criticism.

“Therefore, effective Wednesday, December 21, 2022, all employees, Pre-K through grade 12 students, and visitors are required to wear face coverings in all district facilities, school grounds, and buses,” Passaic Public Schools Superintendent Sandra Diodonet said in a letter issued via Twitter.

“When Passaic County is in the moderate or below range, the mask mandate will be lifted,” Diodonet wrote.

Passaic Public Schools includes 17 schools and has about 14,000 students in total. Passaic, within Passaic County, is located in northern New Jersey.

The mandate drew criticism from locals.

“This is anti-science, anti-child & just plain cruel. Shame on ‘educators’ who impose restrictions on children’s learning, socialization & joy just because they can,” Twitter user Maud Maron, a Democrat who ran for Congress, wrote to the school district on Twitter.

A group that opposes COVID-19-related rules for schools and the teaching of critical race theory in classrooms similarly panned the decision this week.

“Families are still dealing with the fallout from these policies, and will be doing so for years to come … so for districts across the country to yet again unilaterally impose mask mandates on suffering children defies logic,” Parents Defending Education said in a statement in response. Different families have different levels of risk tolerance, and should anyone desire to have their children masked, they should be free to do so … but certainly not mandated.”

New Jersey’s statewide mask mandate was ended by Gov. Phil Murphy in March of this year. Recently, the Democrat governor told local media NJ.com that he doesn’t “foresee any mandates in New Jersey unless something drastically changes.”

“I think people should just use their commonsense … if you’re not feeling well—certainly if you test positive—take yourself off the field and that to me remains the right sensible, commonsense advice,” he added.

“We don’t want to mandate things that we can’t enforce and I don’t think the market is going to bear that.”

Study shows chances of contracting COVID increase with each vaccine dose

The survey ultimately discovered an association between higher risk of COVID-19 and those individuals who had previously received a greater number of vaccine doses.

A recently published study from the Cleveland Clinic has questioned COVID-19 vaccine efficacy and posited that additional doses may in fact increase one's likeliness of contracting the disease.

Conducted between September and December of this year, the clinic examined 51,000 of its employees to test the "bivalent" vaccine, created to protect against the original COVID-19 strain and its Omicron variants. It also sought to determine the effectiveness of subsequent vaccine doses. The study has not yet been peer-reviewed.

The survey ultimately discovered an association between higher risk of COVID-19 and those individuals who had previously received a greater number of vaccine doses. The study further determined that the bivalent vaccines were only 30% effective in preventing infection against different variants of the Omicron strain of the virus.

Cleveland Clinic Study

"The association of increased risk of COVID-19 with higher numbers of prior vaccine doses in our study, was unexpected," the study reads. "A simplistic explanation might be that those who received more doses were more likely to be individuals at higher risk of COVID-19. A small proportion of individuals may have fit this description. However, the majority of subjects in this study were generally young individuals and all were eligible to have received at least 3 doses of vaccine by the study start date, and which they had every opportunity to do."

"Therefore, those who received fewer than 3 doses (>45% of individuals in the study) were not those ineligible to receive the vaccine, but those who chose not to follow the CDC's recommendations on remaining updated with COVID-19 vaccination, and one could reasonably expect these individuals to have been more likely to have exhibited higher risk-taking behavior," it continued. "Despite this, their risk of acquiring COVID-19 was lower than those who received a larger number of prior vaccine doses."

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has long posited that receipt of the various vaccines may not prevent someone from contracting the disease, but rather reduce the severity of symptoms.

Kherson official dies in car bombing

Ukrainian “terrorists” have killed the head of a local village, the region’s authorities report

The head of the village of Lyubimovka in Russia’s Kherson region, Andrey Shtepa, was killed on Thursday, according to the regional administration’s official Telegram channel.

“Today, Ukrainian terrorists made an attempt on the head of the village of Lyubimovka in the Kakhovka municipal district, as a result of which he died,” the statement read, adding that the attack was carried out using a car bomb.

“Andrei Shtepa was a true professional and a fearless person who selflessly led the evacuation and remained in his native village to the last, fulfilling his duties, despite the threat to life,” the authorities reported.

Kherson officials say they have now launched a criminal investigation into the attack and have vowed to find all those responsible for this “inhuman crime” and punish them to the fullest extent of Russian law.

This fall, the regions of Kherson and Zaporozhye as well as the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics formally joined Russia after voting overwhelmingly in favor of the move in referendums. Kiev rejected the results of the referendums and pledged to use military force to oust Russia from all lands that Ukraine considers its own.

The incident comes as Kiev has warned that there will be more explosions on Russian territory as long as Moscow continues its military operation in Ukraine.

While Ukrainian officials have not claimed outright responsibility for acts such as the August car bomb killing of journalist Darya Dugina or the October truck bombing of the Crimean Bridge, the head of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, Alexey Danilov, stated on Wednesday that if Moscow continues its policies “there will be blasts” in many cities across Russia.

Spain to allow teens to legally 'self-ID' as opposite sex

Spanish Parliament has passed a controversial gender self-identification bill that if approved by the Senate will allow anyone 16 and over to change their legal sex, and even in some cases, allowing children as young as 12 to apply.

Spanish Parliament has passed a controversial gender self-identification bill that if approved by the Senate will allow anyone 16 and over to change their legal sex, and even in some cases, allowing children as young as 12 to apply.

The bill was approved 188 votes to 150, and now moves on to the Senate. Should it be passed, applicants will no longer be required to obtain a medical diagnosis of gender dysphoria prior to legally changing their sex, nor will they be required to provide proof of two years of hormonal treatments as was the case in the past, the BBC reports.

Trans activists have been pushing to depathologize gender dysphoria for over a decade in a move that mirrors the gay rights movement. Homosexuality was considered a mental illness until the 1970s before it was removed from the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM). Trans activists argue that the same should be done for gender dysphoria, overlooking the obvious difference that being gay does not require medical intervention or body part amputation.

Many Spanish feminists have voiced concerns that the self-ID bill will put women and girls at risk, and the issue has caused a rift in the coalition government with some members of the Socialist party expressing criticism.

"When gender is asserted over biological sex, it does not seem to me to be a step forward in a progressive direction; it seems to be a step backwards," Carmen Calvo, former deputy prime minister to Mr. Sanchez told the BBC. "The state has to provide answers for transgender people, but gender is neither voluntary nor optional."

If enacted, Spain would join nine other European countries in having self-identification legislation, including Ireland, Norway, and Portugal.

The vote occurred just as Scotland passed its hotly contested Gender Recognition Reform Bill which also implements a system of self-identification for anyone aged 16 and over and reduces the amount of time living in the acquired gender to just three months. The bill was also met with strong opposition from Scottish feminists.

Sean Hannity Testifies He ‘Did Not Believe For One Second’ That the 2020 Election Was Stolen

Fox News host Sean Hannity has testified under oath that he did not believe “for one second” that the 2020 election was fraudulent.

Hannity reportedly testified in a deposition on Wednesday concerning Dominion Voting Systems’ $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against Fox News.

“I did not believe it for one second,” Hannity said of claims that the election was rigged or stolen.

Stephen Shackelford, Jr., an attorney for Dominion, told the New York Times that many Fox News stars have said that they do not believe that the election was stolen.

“Many of the highest-ranking Fox people have admitted under oath that they never believed the Dominion lies,” Shackelford said, according to the Times report.

Shackelford said that even Tucker Carlson has said that he didn’t believe the election was stolen.

“Mr. Shackelford described how Mr. Carlson had ‘tried to squirm out of it at his deposition’ when asked about what he really believed,” the Times report says. “Mr. Shackelford started to elaborate about what Mr. Carlson had said privately, telling the judge about the existence of text messages the host had sent in November and December of 2020. But the judge, Eric M. Davis, cut him off, leaving the specific contents of those texts unknown.”

The case will be going to trial in April.

To win, Dominion must prove that Fox hosts were saying one thing privately and another thing publicly.

According to the Times report, Dominion’s lawyers argued in court on Wednesday that “they had obtained ample evidence to make that case.”

Unlike new Israeli government, Talmud does not promote religious coercion

Opinion: The new government's most far-right elements fail to encompass teachings of the Torah's central tenets, presenting a one-dimensional view of the Israeli citizen's needs and wants

In a myriad of demands that have emerged during the coalition negotiations, as Benjamin Netanyahu attempts to form a new government, one has been especially jarring. The demand to integrate the Talmud, a record of the rabbinic debates in the 2nd-5th century on the teachings of the Torah, into the curriculum at state schools.

Taken at face value, it could just be instance of a society being mindful of its cultural origins. But, the far-right lawmakers appear to want our children to internalize the depths of Jewish culture to the point where it might not be healthy.

The Talmud is a document that raises many pivotal and fundamental questions upon which there's little agreement. Moreover, the Talmud is not a call for direct action. It is about a sacred sense of being that touches of the complexity of life.

And therein lies the question: How does the Talmud's spirit of deep consciousness sit with the incoming government's very specific, pointed demands about integrating religion into state schools?

The two loudest far-right elements of the emerging coalition, Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, represent a foreign mindset to the very same Talmud they wish to see in every school.

Their demands to dismantle ministries into several smaller entities, their insatiable appetite for power and their dogmatic view of the Israeli society, which they claim to want to serve, all indicate they see liberalism as a thing of the past.

Maricopa County Witness Is a Woke Professor Who Wasn’t in Maricopa County on Election Day and Who Based His Testimony on What the County Told Him

Maricopa County’s arguments in the 2022 election case with Kari Lake are falling apart. The truth hurts.

The case in Maricopa County continues. One witness the County brought in to argue for the their side was Kenneth Mayer.

Mayor argued that there was no evidence of voter disenfranchisement on election day.

Kenneth Mayer, witness called by the Katie Hobbs team claims there is “no evidence” that voters abandoned their efforts to vote or large numbers were disenfranchised after encountering difficulties with tabulators on Election Day 2022 in Maricopa County.

Mr. Mayer is apparently a woke college professor. It turns out he wasn’t in Maricopa County on election day and he based his expert opinion on what the county told him.

This is not looking good for the bad guys who stole the 2022 Election in Maricopa County.
