Then, that child wonders why little Susie next door received 40 presents (usually by mama and daddy going into debt) when said child only received two. Santa must not like said child as much as he does Susie.
It's a humongous, big, fat, lie - designed to provoke feelings of rejection, envy, loneliness and increase debt buying things one cannot afford.
