"Prostitutes" are not courtesans, they are enslaved through a repeated cycle of Kindness/Fear/Protection/Guilt. Pimps are scum who perform or extend the enslavement. Not much difference in the illegal human smuggling rings.
You misread the intent. many of the enslaved protect their masters and must be freed within their minds and souls first, thus the needed prayers.
