Work is honorable, but employment (becoming a "hireling") can have issues.

 

Old time slavery had advantages over employment. If your slave is sick or injured you don't get labor out of them. This results (or should) in basic provision of some decent food, reasonable housing and basic clothing.

 

Employment (wage slavery) turns the worker into a consumable commodity.

 

I think this is why people whose ancestors came here as slaves are generally willing to remain so to some extent and why northern children of tenement dwellers generally look on labor for themselves in a different light.

 

Central bank debt slavery is trying to engulf us all, so the sooner we unite as Christians (remember it was for freedom that Christ has made us free) the sooner all will get to enjoy their freedoms again.
