my experience is that they only get worse. my neighbor is now out of jail, but both his sons are in prison for violent crimes.

well… the conclusions i came to were this… if you start fighting back small, it will just escalate, and you will end up with a hatfield/mccoys situation. do you really want to spend every night for the rest of your life sitting on your roof with a rifle? this leaves two options… nuclear first strike, or ignore them and wait for other enemies, state LEOs, or karma in general to catch up with them. but i would put the "good Christian charity" idea right out of your mind, i were you.
