Adding:

Prep for NBC is not difficult. Have activated charcoal, iodide etc. Along with plastic and duct tape. Anything outside that is prolly gonna do you in.

Have a good light. And tools. And any spare parts for critical stuff.

If your water well dont work during power outage, turn off breakers and connect it to generator. Habe an electric guru show you how before time comes. If you dont know electric hookups. Most pumps are 240v so some generators wont work. Most will.. Pump a tub full at a time.

Get a fridge temp display so you can see temp of food with door closed.

So you can run generator 3hrs on and 6-8hrs off or such, to keep food at proper temp but saving fuel.

Pump water, use induction countertop burner, charge batteries, etc during these run times.

Don't isolate because of survival mode. Isolate if thats what you normally do. If social interaction is what you do, then keep doing that.

That part has little to do with being prepared.

But if your friends aren't prepared then you better expect to carry them. Pick friends wisely. As if each day was survival mode.
