It's a lie of omission. You can not truly isolate just one thing entirely alone in this world. How a thing relates to other things around it is core to that thing's identity. If you could, theoretically change someone's DNA and give them the physical body of a butterfly, that STILL would not make it a real butterfly, because that thing would be built upon the history and relationships of a human, not of a butterfly. You creation would, inescapably, be lacking the coherence of a real butterfly.

What is real? ALL of you is real, not just one isolated piece. This is the reason that astronauts are often overcome with intense dread when they look away from Earth, because it makes it abundantly clear that they can not be truly isolated from the Earth. Although you perceive only a sliver of reality, you are inescapably only a fragment of the whole, and that whole will maintain coherence regardless of what you do. If you try to alter things arbitrarily, it will just treat your alterations as an undesirable mutation which is at odds with the coherence of the whole.

Organic matter is endlessly recycled on this planet. Virtually none of the atoms which are in my body started there. My sense of self, and my place within the whole, is defined by the coherence of my experience, not the location of any particular atoms.

>you would have no accessible memory, just as you do not have that for your previous forms- fetus, zygote, fertilized egg, etc…

Here you are entirely incorrect. Although I may not be able to recall specific incidents from my fetus state, as I do my memories of last night's dinner, everything that I have experienced was built upon those successive stages of development. I didn't appear out of nowhere as a human.
