On New Year’s Eve, Kari Lake filed a petition in the Arizona Supreme Court to transfer her election lawsuit directly to the State Supreme Court.

Katie Hobbs is set to take office this week after her narrow and highly questionable election win.

Lake argues that Katie Hobbs’ swearing-in ceremony on January 2nd and the “electoral chaos” that targeted and disenfranchised Republican voters in Maricopa County on Election Day justify an immediate decision from the Arizona Supreme Court and a new election.

The filing cites “evidence put forward in this case, including the changing and conflicting testimony of Maricopa officials, and sworn testimony by whistleblowers employed by Maricopa,” to show that Maricopa County failed to verify mail-in ballot signatures, failed to keep chain of custody for 300,000 ballots, and caused massive “chaos” on election day causing tabulators to reject tens of thousands of ballots, disproportionally targeting Republican voters.

On Election Day in Maricopa County, over 50% of tabulators and printers failed the moment that polls opened, causing voters to be turned away from the polls and creating long wait times of four hours or more. This is suspected by many to be an intentional act aimed to disproportionally affect Republican Election Day voters who turned out 3:1 for Kari Lake.

Katie Hobbs Sworn Into Office At Illegitimate Private Ceremony, Breaks Out In Laughter When Asked To Swear That She Will Support the Constitution

Katie Hobbs was sworn into office at a private ceremony on the Ninth Floor of the Arizona Capitol Executive Tower on Monday after a narrow and highly questionable election win.

As The Gateway Pundit reported, Kari Lake is still fighting in her lawsuit to overturn the election or hold a new one.

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Peter Thompson dismissed the lawsuit on Christmas Eve, despite the evidence of massive voter disenfranchisement targeting Republicans and obviously false testimony by County Elections officials. Lake filed a Petition for Special Action last week in the Arizona Court of Appeals, arguing the trial court dismissed “explosive findings.”

Days later, Lake filed a Petition for Transfer in the Arizona Supreme Court to have her case transferred and ruled on by the State Supreme Court immediately.

Democrat Attorney General Nominee Kris Mayes, Democrat Secretary of State Nominee Adrian Fontes, Republican Treaseruer Kimberly Yee, and Republican Superintendent Nominee Kimberly Yee were also sworn into office.

The Gateway Pundit also reported on the questionable Treasurers race. Kimberly Yee, who dropped from the GOP primary for Arizona governor in January with little to no support, trounced her opponent Martin Quezada by over 283k votes. It does not make sense that the State Treasurer’s race would have a much higher turnout for a Republican candidate when Kari Lake’s race was at the top of the ticket.

Katie Hobbs takes the oath of office Monday to become Arizona’s 24th governor and the first Democrat to hold the office since 2009.

Power will transfer in a private ceremony at the state Capitol as Hobbs formally takes over from Republican Doug Ducey. A public inauguration for Hobbs and others taking statewide offices is scheduled for Thursday.

As she did at the certification ceremony to sign off on her own election on December 5, Hobbs chuckled and looked like a fool as she raised her right hand to take her Oath.

Katie Hobbs is incompetent and not a serious person. No honest person believes that the 2022 election was free and fair.

Katie Hobbs refused to debate, did not campaign, had almost no following, and she ran against Kari Lake, one of the most popular Republican candidates in a generation.

As she was sworn in, Hobbs had a hard time following along with the Oath, and she broke out in laughter after she was told to solemnly swear that she will support the Constitution.

German MP warns against ‘unimaginable escalation’

Berlin will continue to support Kiev but will not risk becoming a party to the conflict with Russia, a lawmaker has said

Berlin has no plans to send modern Western-made tanks to Ukraine, as the risks involved are too high, a German lawmaker said on Monday. Such a move could make NATO a direct party to the conflict between Moscow and Kiev and lead to an escalation, Michael Mueller told Germany’s ARD broadcaster.

Berlin will continue to refrain from any “ill-considered unilateral moves,” Mueller, who is a member of the German Bundestag’s Foreign Policy Committee, told ARD’s Morganmagazin show.

“We would only deliver such weapons in coordination with our NATO partners,” he said, adding that the military bloc wants to avoid becoming a direct party to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

“That would be in the interests of all of us… If NATO became a direct war party against Russia, it would be an escalation that none of us want to imagine,” Mueller, a member of Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s Social Democratic Party (SPD), warned.

No other nations who possess “comparable” military hardware – including the US and France – have supplied them to Ukraine, Mueller pointed out, adding that those countries appear to share Germany’s concerns.

The lawmaker also said that dialogue with Russia should be maintained. “There should always be an offer to talk,” he argued, criticizing his party’s coalition partners – the Greens and the Free Democrats – for failing to understand that.

Mueller said Chancellor Scholz is now the only leader who continues to seek such contacts, adding that the Foreign Ministry should also look for options for dialogue.

Scholz has previously repeatedly said that resolving the conflict between Russia and Ukraine would be much harder without dialogue with Moscow. Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock, on the contrary, has taken a staunch anti-Russia position, vowing to ramp up sanctions against Moscow and stating that “normal relations” with the Kremlin are out of the question.

An incoming Democrat congresswoman is married to a Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipient who could face deportation if the DREAM Act doesn’t pass through Congress next term.

The newly elected politician, Delia Ramirez, 39, is a US citizen — but her new husband, Boris Hernandez, came to the country illegally when he was 14-years-old.

Ramirez, of course, appears to support extreme open borders policies.

DACA is an unconstitutional Obama-era policy that he enacted in 2012, which allows people who came to the US illegally as minors to obtain work permits and be shielded from deportation.

Now, once she is in Congress, Ramirez plans to use her position to fight to keep her husband in the country.

“I’m going to be fighting to keep my husband here and I’m a member of Congress. …. What happens to the other 2 million undocumented immigrants that the DREAM Act would protect? What happens to his brother? What happens to my best friend from high school? What happens to all of them who have no pathway, who don’t have a citizen husband or wife or partner?” Ramirez asked during a press conference at the US Capitol in December, according to a report from the Daily Mail.

“This is very personal for me. It is time – it is past time that we deliver on the promise that we have made to our Dreamers,” she continued. “I am the wife of a DACA recipient. I am the daughter of Guatemalan working immigrants. I know firsthand the challenges and constant fear our families live every single day. We have to end this.”

Ramirez continued, “It is time to deliver for our Dreamers. It is time for Boris Hernandez to finally have a pathway to citizenship.”

Since DACA was enacted unconstitutionally, open-borders liberals are pushing for congress to pass the DREAM (Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors) act, which would create a path for citizenship for those currently protected by the program.

The couple met in 2020 and were married during the pandemic. They have no children together.

Loud Explosion Heard and Felt Across DC Sunday Night Blamed on Large Firework at Ice Skating Rink

A loud explosion in the Navy Yard neighborhood in Southeast Washington, D.C. Sunday night that rattled windows, set off car alarms and was heard and felt nearly two miles away was reportedly blamed by responding firemen on a large illegal firework device.

Photos taken at the scene show a modest sized crater at the Canal Park ice skating rink with a nearby glass barrier blown out. No injuries were reported, but nerves were shaken throughout much of the area.

Dozens dead in Ukrainian strike on Russian troops – Moscow

The deadly attack took place in the city of Makeyevka in Donetsk People’s Republic, the Defense Ministry says

More than 60 Russian troops have been killed by a Ukrainian missile strike, Moscow confirmed on Monday. The bombardment hit a temporary housing area used by the Russian forces in Donbass.

The facility in the city of Makeyevka in Russia’s Donetsk People’s Republic was targeted by six missiles from US-supplied HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, the Defense ministry said. Two projectiles were intercepted by air defenses, but four made it through, the statement added.

"As a result of a strike by four missiles with high-explosive warheads on a temporary deployment point, 63 Russian servicemen were killed,” Defense Ministry spokesman Lieutenant General Igor Konashenkov said during a briefing.

All necessary assistance and support will be provided to the families of the fallen troops, the ministry assured.

The strike was earlier reported by the Donetsk People’s Republic’s Information Minister Daniil Bezsonov, who said the missiles targeted the building of a vocational school where the troops were stationed. It happened precisely at 0:01 am on New Year’s night, while the serviceman were celebrating, he added.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry earlier condemned Washington for not only supplying sophisticated weapons to Kiev, but also providing the Ukrainian military with intelligence about the location of the Russian forces.

Israeli Strikes Shut Down Damascus Airport Days After Netanyahu Govt Sworn In

A major Israeli attack on the Syrian capital has killed two soldiers and wounded two others, and has put the country's main international airport temporarily out of commission.

The early Monday morning attack reportedly involved Israeli jets firing two missiles at Damascus International Airport, causing significant enough to damage to force the airport's closure while it undergoes repairs. The timing is interesting given the new Netanyahu government was just sworn-in at the end of last week, and is filled with hardline anti-Iran hawks who will likely escalate the proxy war across the region.

"It caused material damage in a nearby area, the army said, without giving further details," the Associated Press reports. "Syria’s Ministry of Transport said work to repair the damage began immediately and later Monday, some flights resumed while work in other parts of the airport continued."

It's the second time in a year that Damascus International Airport has suffered closure due to Israeli attack, and it's unclear if Syria's anti-air defense measures, part of which has been supplied by Russia, deployed in response.

The AP further reviews that typically the Israeli media and official explanation is ostensibly that Israel is targeting Iranian and Hezbollah arms shipments and personnel inside Syria.

"Israel has targeted airports and ports in government-held parts of Syria in an apparent attempt to prevent arms shipments from Iran to militant groups backed by Tehran, including Lebanon’s Hezbollah," AP writes.

In the north, Israel has also targeted Aleppo International Airport in the recent past, with multiple strikes which had put it out of operation temporarily in September.

Helicopters Collide Over Australian Beach, 4 Passengers Dead

MELBOURNE, Australia—Two helicopters collided in an Australian tourist hotspot Monday afternoon, killing four passengers and critically injuring three others in a crash that drew emergency aid from beachgoers enjoying the water during the southern summer.

One helicopter appeared to have been taking off and the other landing when they collided near the Sea World theme park in Main Beach, a northern beach on the Gold Coast, Gary Worrell, Queensland state police acting inspector, said at a news conference.

One helicopter landed safely on a sandbank, but debris from the other was spread across an area police described as difficult to access.

The dead and three most seriously injured people were all passengers in the crashed helicopter.

“Members of the public and police tried to remove the people and they commenced first aid and tried to get those people to safety from an airframe that was upside down,” Worrell said.

“(People on) Jet Skis, family boaters, ordinary members of the public rushed to assist these people.”

Passengers in the other helicopter, which lost its windscreen in the crash, are also receiving medical assistance.

Footage of the crash showed a helicopter shortly after takeoff being clipped by another helicopter flying over the water.

Sea World Helicopters, a separate company from the theme park, expressed its condolences and said it was cooperating with the authorities handling the crash investigation.

“We and the entire flying community are devastated by what has happened and our sincere condolences go to all those involved and especially the loved ones and family of the deceased,” the statement said.

The company did not confirm if it operated one or both helicopters involved in the crash, saying in the statement it would not comment further because of the investigation.

A witness named John told Melbourne radio station 3AW that patrons at Sea World heard the crash.

He said staff at the theme park moved swiftly to close off areas closest to the crash.

“There was a massive, massive bang,” he said. “It was just huge. I’m not sure if it was the propellers or whatever hitting against each other. But there was this poor lady and her son near the helipad in tears.”

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the accident was an “unthinkable tragedy.

“My deepest sympathies are with each of the families and everyone affected by this terrible accident,” she said.

Australian Transport Safety Bureau chief commissioner Angus Mitchell said an investigation into the cause of the crash was underway.

Queensland Ambulance Service said earlier that 13 people were being assessed for injuries.

The Gold Coast region is at its busiest in January, the peak time for holidays in Australia’s summer.

Elected Officials Forced To Resign As Florida Anti-Lobbying Law Takes Effect

A new Florida law designed to restrict political lobbying by current and former public officials has led multiple officeholders to resign.

The law prevents public officials from lobbying for six years after their tenure and it bans elected officials from lobbying while in office. It is the longest lobbying ban in the country and is likely the reason why Florida has seen a wave of resignations by high-profile officials.

Two state agency heads and Florida’s insurance commissioner have resigned in the weeks leading up to the law coming into effect, according to the Miami Herald.

Miami Shores Council member Crystal Wagar and Miami-Dade County School Board Member Lubby Navarro both resigned because of the extended lobbying ban, according to local outlet WPLG 10.

The lobbying ban came into effect Jan 1. to implement an amendment to the Florida constitution approved by voters in 2018, Associated Press (AP) reported. The state previously had a 2 year lobbying ban for public officials.

Five elected officials in Miami-Dade, Palm Beach and Leon counties have filed a federal lawsuit against the lobbying ban for allegedly violating their right to free speech, Miami Herald reported.

They claim an overly broad lobbying ban would be contrary to the public interest because it disincentivizes public service, a part time occupation for most Florida officials.

“It is for this very reason that the First Amendment of the United States Constitution expressly protects the right to petition the government for a redress of grievances, along with the rights to freedom of speech and freedom of assembly,” the lawsuit says.

The plaintiffs’ request to temporarily block the law was denied by a judge in an emergency hearing Thursday, the Herald reported. Their arguments will be heard in court Jan 27., the Herald added.

Migrant Apprehensions in Canadian Border Sector Jump 800 Percent in First Two Months of Fiscal Year

Swanton Sector Border Patrol agents experienced an increase in migrant apprehensions of nearly 800 percent during the first two months of the new fiscal year. During the last four months, the agents in this Canadian border sector apprehended more migrants than were apprehended in the entire FY22.

The Nationwide Encounters Report releases late on the Friday before Christmas shows that Swanton Sector agents apprehended 727 migrants who crossed from Canada into Vermont and New York. During the same period last year, these agents apprehended only 81 migrants. This represents an increase of nearly 798 percent.

Agents in this sector began seeing a marked increase in crossings and apprehensions beginning in May 2022. The numbers continued to rise throughout the rest of they year with the exception of May.

During the last four months (August through November), Swanton Sector agents apprehended 1,142 migrants. This exceeds the total for migrants apprehended during the entire Fiscal Year 2022, which ended on September 30.

The increasing trend of migrants crossing the Canadian border into the Swanton Sector appears to be continuing in December.

Early in December, Swanton Sector agents working the border near North Troy, Vermont, rescued multiple migrant groups from freezing conditions, Breitbart Texas reported. One of the incidents involved a migrant family including small children.

Federal prosecutors are aggressively applying legal consequences to human smugglers working in this area.

Prosecutors in New York obtained a conviction against two men two smuggled eight migrants into the U.S. in October 2022, according to a tweet from Swanton Sector Chief Patrol agent Robert Garcia.
