one kid gets hurt/killed in bicycle accident, make nationwide news, instill fear in parents that "this too can happen to your kid!!!", force everyone to wear helmets on bikes(bet those helmet manufacturers made a killing from that)
also make it illegal to spank your children to discipline them, leading to no repercussions for bad behavior, ending up in a spoiled generation that can do no wrong and lash out against any kind of disciplinary action long since established
and there was the wwf/wwe getting rid of showing blood on tv, again catering to kids by way of keeping their sponsors to sell merch
9/11 really did the trick of instilling fear to the entire nation, followed by 2 decades of war and dead soldiers being brought back in caskets, non-stop documentaries being aired showing them blown up in ied attacks, fueling the younger generations to enlist out of revenge and feeding the war machine
the msdnc host years back saying children don't belong to parents and instead belong to whole communities
