So 2023 begins with more censorship of public hearings in a Gitmo capital case. Here, the judge announces that, if he orders guards to let a Saudi defendant spend nights at the court compound, the prisoner will attend hearings– not sit out back in a holding cell.#redactistan
This strategic censorship was done in a 19-page slice of a day-long hearing to black out the subject of the litigation: Defense lawyers have been asking since 2016 to house the prisoner during hearings at the court compound. Nothing secret about that.
