HRC onward together group

Leadership Edit

As of May 2017, Hillary Clinton is the CEO. Clinton co-founded the group with Howard Dean.[3] In August 2017 Howard Dean confirmed that Onward Together had hired Emmy Ruiz and Adam Parkhomenko as consultants. Both Ruiz and Parkhomenko were members of Clinton's 2008 and 2016 presidential campaigns.[3]

Launch Day Edit

On May 15, 2017, at approximately 4:12 PM Eastern time Hillary Clinton tweeted the launch of Onward Together on her personal Twitter account. [4]

Clinton transferred $800,000 from her 2016 presidential campaign to Onward Together shortly before announcing the groupโ€™s launch in May, documents the campaign filed with the FEC reveal.[5]

Criticism Edit

The Republican Party criticized Clinton's announcement, tweeting, "If at first you don't succeed, repurpose your failed branding." Other groups on the left have also criticized the organization as just a way to keep the Clinton family influential in the Democratic Party.

Clinton, 69, said Onward Together will support several groups, such as Color of Change, formed in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina to strengthen African-Americansโ€™ political voice, and Swing Left, which is working to elect Democrats to the House of Representatives. She said Howard Dean, former Vermont senator and chairman of the Democratic National Committee, will play a role in the organization. But itโ€™s not yet clear what that position will be.
