(LifeSiteNews) — A professional football player who argued that refusing COVID jabs should be illegal has died suddenly.

38-year-old Uche Nwaneri, who played for the Jacksonville Jaguars in the National Football League (NFL) and called for the imprisonment of those who refused to take the COVID-19 vaccines, was found dead in his wife’s home in Lafayette, Indiana on December 30.

Nwaneri was found “unresponsive in a bedroom” by his wife at “about 1 a.m. Friday,” according to a local news report. An initial autopsy report “indicated there were no signs of foul play” and that “preliminary results indicate a possible heart attack, pending toxicology results.”

The athlete played college football at Purdue University before spending seven seasons as an offensive lineman in the NFL. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Nwaneri advocated for vaccine mandates, exaggerating the danger of COVID-19 for children and suggesting that those who refused the shots should be thrown in jail.

“Ok so let’s get these vaccine mandates and vaccine passports up and running ASAP,” the football player said in a September 2021 Twitter post. “We seeing children DIE daily from the unvaccinated selfishness. Pregnant women at risk too. PROTECT LIFE. MANDATE THE VACCINE. Jail anyone who refuses, to protect LIFE.”

Nwaneri also criticized pro-lifers for responding to mask recommendations with the pro-abortion slogan “my body, my choice,” expressing his view that protecting the unborn is “a bunch of men” controlling women’s bodies.

Nwaneri’s death is the latest in an alarming trend of sudden deaths among athletes, coinciding with the rollout of the COVID vaccines and raising suspicion that the shots led to heart failure among young athletes. In April 2022, Dr. Joseph Mercola pointed out that over 700 athletes “collapsed on the field during a game from March 2021 to March 2022.” The average age of those who experienced heart-related trauma was 23.

As we reported, an elite Virginia high school allegedly hid the fact that members of its student body–some of whom were of Asian ancestry–had earned National Merit awards that could lead to valuable scholarships to colleges, to keep other students from feeling inferior, in the name of “equity.” My colleague Bob Hoge explained the grave harm these actions caused the deserving students:

By hiding the awards, the administrators at the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology not only denied the students their accomplishments, but they made it impossible for them to use the distinction on their college applications.

Bob also wrote about the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Lieutentant Governor, Winsome Spears, speaking out boldly about the school’s actions, during an appearance as a guest on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” program on Tuesday morning:

Sears powerfully lays out the argument that assuring equal outcomes in school—or elsewhere—does not work in the real world and leads to unprepared people being thrust out into the workforce. It also leads to those who work hard for their achievements being openly discriminated against, and as she points out, that’s just not the American way.

Winsome vows to investigate this matter, and let’s hope she holds this school and these prejudiced administrators accountable.

Toward the close of his piece, Bob included a tweet from the lieutenant governor; in it, she shared the concrete action she was taking–instead of just giving the issue lip service. She had “reached out to the Governor and Attorney General and asked for an investigation.”

Now, “The Center Square – Virginia” site is reporting that the state’s AG, Jason Miyares has done just that, with two lawsuits on civil rights grounds–one on the merit awards issue and the other on the school’s admission practices:

Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares announced Wednesday civil rights investigations into allegations Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology withheld national awards from students, potentially costing them millions in scholarships.

At the same time, Miyares announced a second, separate civil rights investigation into the school’s admission policy, which Miyares says has resulted in a significant drop in the Asian American student population at the school and violates the Virginia Human Rights Act.

“Racism and race-based government decision making is wrong and goes against who we are, and I want to get to the bottom of this,” Miyares said in a Wednesday news conference.

Miyares continued:

No student should be treated differently because of their race. Students at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology are amongst the brightest in the nation, yet some have been punished in the name of ‘equity.’

The controversial admissions policies at TJHSST, which have significantly decreased the amount of Asian American students enrolled in recent years, is another example of students being treated differently because of their ethnicity.

The Department of Justice is preparing to seize roughly 56 million shares of digital investing platform Robinhood, of which FTX claims ownership, that are also claimed by failed cryptocurrency group BlockFi.

The DOJ's Seth Shapiro told the bankruptcy court handling FTX that the shares "aren’t property of the bankruptcy estate," according to the Wall Street Journal. Previously, a Manhattan court ordered the seizure of $93 million in FTX assets at Silvergate Capital Corp.

Ownership of the Robinhood funds was a matter of dispute prior to FTX's fall. FTX lawyer James Bromley said at the hearing that "[t]he question as to the ownership of those Robinhood shares was an open question before the seizure took place …We wanted to make sure that it was clear the Robinhood shares that were being seized were being seized from accounts" outside of the firm's current control.

"We believe we have rights with respect to those assets that can be dealt with late… We are in alignment at the present time with the U.S. government and the law enforcement officials in taking these steps," he continued, per the WSJ.

Both American and Bahamian authorities are reportedly scrambling to freeze accounts containing FTX assets and to claw back some of the firm's remaining funds amid their ongoing investigations.
