Stephan usually does good background info, graphics and data stuff. But I felt like he got a little overwhelmed by the recent cascade of significant events. I hope he had time to catch up.
people gotta understand that every culture has a different comfort zone regarding proximity towards each other. It is known that this zone is much wider for Americans than for most other cultures. Oriental people are not uncomfortable walking, sitting close or even having their arms around each other. these are considered brotherly displays of friendship. they do not think of it as "looking gay", it would be taboo and insulting to consider such intentions. the rebuff "no homo" that is being used exclusively by those tolerant westeners who are especially afraid of looking homo, shows what comes first to mind. That is not what other cultures focus on, especially not if you look at Pakistani in the 70s.
Considering this man in the photo: we know who he is and there is no indication that he had anything going with Hussein. This gay bashing is a waste of time and leads nowhere.
