This has a lot of potential. Needs expounding.
Anon is sharing too much, but fuck it.
Grandma and I watched him as religiously as she (once) watched everyone on TBN. Later in life, when it became apparent to her that the TBN folks (and "religions in general") were comprised mostly of scoundrels and crooks, we still would watch Bob religiously; rerun or otherwise - didnt matter.
God, for me, isn't in a brick and mortar, or an organized sect. It's in exploring/experiencing the gifts and talents of those that are astute enough to recognize their gifts and talents, and are also generous enough to share them with the world for its betterment. We may not always recognize that what we observe is a display of the divine's work (because sometimes it goes against our preconceived notions of what we project onto others), but the true beauty of it is that it doesn't demand our allegience or subservience. It puts itself out there, sometimes uncomfortably, to challenge others to an understanding of a new perspective. An eclectic understanding should be the goal of every person willing to explore competing ideas. They would eventually be the most equipped to disarm those that would sow division by way of accusation and/or subjugation.
If unity is the goal, then understanding, love, and patience is the methodology to success.
