True story, anon was at Torrejon AB in Spain when the first F-16's were delivered. Lots of people on the flightline watching it on final approach including me. Trouble was, it was coming in gear up. Pilot completed a near perfect center-line landing grinding the belly tank and engine air intake off in the process. Pilot opens the canopy and stands up in the cockpit.
Fire dept rushes out spraying foam, as a precaution I assume, up the exhaust which forces a big fireball out the remains of the air intake which is directly below the cockpit because pilot failed to shut off engine. Pilot sits back down to dodge the fireball.
All kinds of people start running and driving out, presumably to help, when an announcement comes over the PA system to stay away because of a potential hydrazine leak. Vehicles immediately reverse even running over a couple of people on foot in the process.
Looked like an episode of the Keystone Cops.
