Silent Expressionist Horror film from Germany, relating to the creation of "The Golem", a Monster of Jewish folklore created from Clay. The original full title of the film is "The Golem: How he came Into the world" (original German title "Der Golem: wie er in die Welt kam"). For many years, the film was thought lost and, when re-discovered, was found to be in very poor condition. This version of the rare classic has been carefully restored and enhanced, and includes English intertitles which give explanatory detail to the story as it goes along. It's also a better quality 'tinted' version, with scenes enhanced by various single-colour shadings, rather than the plain black & white of the original print, and is the longest uncut version available. At the end of the film is a rare and interesting advertisement for Fritz Lang's classic masterpiece, "Metropolis".
