People have so much time and money tied up into their indoctrination, erm, education, that they don't want to consider the possibility those years were a complete waste. And their snootyness covers up their own nagging hint of an actual lack of self esteem and self assurance. It's confirmation bias writ large.
I got to the point I couldn't do it anymore, and dropped doing social media. I'm just waiting for the collapse at this point. No sympathy for them dying as they snicker at my unvaxxed family. No deals.
