Jean-Pierre: [Biden] was surprised to learn any records had been found there. He doesn't know what was in them…as soon as his lawyers realized these documents were there, they did the right thing, and immediately turned them over to the archives…his team is cooperating fully with the review.
Jean-Pierre: I have not spoken to [Biden] about any of this [classified document mishandling] specifically, because he has laid out what he knows…he doesn't know what's in them.
Reporter: Would this White House characterize this as a mistake?
Jean-Pierre; What I'll say is this is an ongoing process…I'll not go beyond what [Biden] has said.
Jean-Pierre is struggling hard to defend Biden.
Reporter: Has [Biden] looked into whether any other [classified] documents have been to any other office that he has? Has there been any kind of audit that's been done on where there may be others that he doesn't know about?
Jean-Pierre: I'm just not going to speak to this. I'm going to let the process continue.
Jean-Pierre: The U.S. will continue to have their backs; stand with Ukraine for as long as it takes.
Reporter: Is there a log showing the times [Biden] traveled to that office [Penn-Biden Center]?
Jean-Pierre: I do not know if there is such a log.
Reporter: Nothing?
Jean-Pierre: I'm not sure…you're just trying to see how many times he's gone to the Penn-Biden Center office? I don't have anything to share about how…for the last two years you guys have been very aware of where he goes.
Reporter: Does [Biden] have confidence in Transportation Secretary Buttigieg?
Jean-Pierre: Yes.
Reporter: Why?
Jean-Pierre: Because Secretary Buttigieg …is a uh..he respects the secretary and the work he has been doing.
