i see he is taking flak for this, but honestly - is there any other person who of his stature and means, who would put it all on the line like he has, to take down the system? he put his personal safety and that of his family and business/estate on the line.

we had to have the presidency in order for this to work. there had/has to be a single point of focus, to deliver messages such as: "the media is the enemy of the people", etc. Nobody, and I mean nobody, else would sign up for that job, who was capable of winning that job.

so, yes, he single-handedly accepted the POTUS position, to launch the attack.
