Germany already has "smoke detectors" as "law" in every home … in my old apartment I just turned around the battery in one - and whoops … I got booted from that apartment.
Now I´m using it to tell them what I think!
I´m also the only one in my current house (of 7 apartments) that has internet, yet there is a router above every apartment door.
