A side effect of keeping too many secrets, especially Official Secrets of a dubious nature (hiding embarrassment or crime instead of secrets of genuine value for keeping people alive), by people who want to consider themselves worthy… is probably some sort of neurosis will eventually set in and rot the participant from the inside out.
