World Economic Forum Lists ‘Misinformation’ As A Top Risk Threatening The World

The World Economic Forum (WEF) names “misinformation” as one of the most severe threats facing the world in 2023, according to an annual report.

“Misinformation” is ranked 16th, or moderately severe, on a list of the 32 risks having the most impact over a two year period, the 2023 WEF Global Risks Report, which displays the results of a survey of over 1,200 experts across multiple fields, shows. The ranking aligns with the WEF’s accelerated efforts in recent years to address a perceived damage “misinformation” spreading online does to the health of societies.

“‘Misinformation and disinformation’ are, together, a potential accelerant to the erosion of social cohesion as well as a consequence” and can worsen growing polarization and disunity among societies, the report states.

Political polarization, exacerbated by online information, in turn becomes the defining feature of elections and can contribute to the degradation of democracy in a country, the report said.

Misinformation and disinformation have “become a prominent tool for geopolitical agents to propagate extremist beliefs and sway elections through social media echo chambers” by fostering doubt about political processes, the report stated. Online lies and misleading content can also “destabilize trust in information.”

“The election of less-centrist leaders and adoption of more ‘extreme’ policies in economic superpowers may fracture alliances, limit global collaboration and lead to a more volatile dynamic,” the report said.

“Misinformation and disinformation” itself was ranked more severe than employment crises, infectious diseases and use of weapons of mass destruction.

Mis- and disinformation are defined in the report as “persistent false information … widely spread through social media networks” that influences public opinion “towards distrust in facts and authority.”

“Global risk” is defined as “the possibility of the occurrence of an event or condition which, if it occurs, would negatively impact a significant proportion of global [gross domestic product], population or natural resources,” according to the methodology for the Global Risks Perception Survey upon which the WEF report is based.

Police go unpunished after pepper-spraying and arresting photographers at anti-lockdown protest

Victoria Police say internal investigations into the pepper-spraying and arrests of photographers at an anti-lockdown protest in Melbourne in 2021 have finished and no disciplinary action will be taken against the officers involved.

Police confirmed the officer who drenched Age photographer Luis Ascui in oleoresin capsicum (OC) spray was not reprimanded and was cleared of misconduct by the integrity unit despite the force paying a settlement to Ascui after he filed a lawsuit.

Ascui was covering a protest in Richmond on September 18, 2021, when – after protesters broke through a police line – he took photos of an officer pepper-spraying a demonstrator lying on the ground before being sprayed himself.

The protest also resulted in 10 officers being injured and six being taken to hospital, while 235 demonstrators were arrested.

There has also been no disciplining of officers after two other photographers, Jay Kogler and Michael Currie, were doused with pepper spray, arrested and subsequently released without charge during the same rally in September 2021.

The Mitzvot of Non-Jews

The perfection of the world requires the spreading of the seven Noahide commandments

These are the Seven Noahide Laws, as enumerated in the Babylonian Talmud, Sanhedrin 56a:

carry out justice - An imperative to pursue and enforce social justice, and a prohibition of any miscarriage of justice.

no blasphemy - Prohibits a curse directed at the Supreme Being.

no idolatry - Prohibits the worship of any human or any created thing. Also prohibited is the making of idols and involvement with the occult. This necessitates an understanding of the One G‑d of Israel and His nature.

no illicit intercourse - Prohibits adultery, incest, homosexual intercourse and bestiality, according to Torah definitions.

no homicide - Prohibits murder and suicide. Causing injury is also forbidden.

no theft - Prohibits the wrongful taking of another's goods.

don't eat a limb of a living creature - Promotes the kind treatment of animal life. It also encourages an appreciation for all kinds of life and respect for nature as G‑d's creation.

https://www.chabad.org/kabbalah/article_cdo/aid/380332/jewish/The-Mitzvot-of-Non-Jews.htm

In Kabbala and Chassidut, the Seven Commandments are equivalent to the seven lower sefirot. The ten sefirot, through which G-d made the world and man, are divided into three "intellectual" attributes: Wisdom, Understanding and Knowledge (chochma, bina, and daat), and seven "emotional" ones: Kindness, Might, Beauty, Eternity, Glory, Foundation and Sovereignty (chesed, gevura, tiferet, netzach, hod, yesod and malchut). The three intellectual attributes are associated with the Jewish people who provide the legal and spiritual interpretations of the Seven Laws to the descendants of Noah. Each law parallels one of the seven "emotional" sefirot.

A functioning judicial system corresponds to malchut, the lowest sefira, which rules in supremacy but is selflessly devoted to public service. This is the responsibility of good government. Our sages state, "War comes to the world through the delay of justice, the perversion of justice, and the teaching of Torah not in accordance with Jewish Law". (Avot 5:8) When both Jews and non-Jews can learn Torah without distortion of its halachic (Jewish legal) meaning, true peace becomes possible. This includes recognition of the principle that Jews can be judged only according to Torah law, no matter where in the world, and that non-Jews in Eretz Yisrael are considered according to the Seven Noahide Laws by the Jews there, with no sovereign jurisdiction of their own.

A Noachide who transgresses these seven commands shall be executed by decapitation. For this reason, all the inhabitants of Shechem were obligated to die. Shechem kidnapped. They observed and were aware of his deeds, but did not judge him.

A Noachide is executed on the basis of the testimony of one witness and the verdict of a single judge. No warning is required. Relatives may serve as witnesses. However, a woman may not serve as a witness or a judge for them.

MSNBC’s Johnson: Many White People Prefer Inconvenience over Letting Blacks Vote

MSNBC contributor Jason Johnson said Monday on “Deadline” that Republicans pass voting laws because many white people “would rather have their own lives inconvenienced than run the risk of black people being on an equal plane.”

Johnson “When Republicans send their random disingenuous gaslighting tweets, I just sit back and say it’s going to be the exact same thing next year. Unless there is a radical change in how Americans decide to see their government, and that comes from the ground, and that comes from the people in office. Unless people recognize that our current democracy isn’t just under threat because of terrorists, isn’t just under threat because of a former president, but is under threat because you have a significant number of people in the House and Senate who don’t actually believe in a functional multicultural democracy, then we will continue to have these conversations on MLK Day about what we wish was happening, but the people in the position to make the change don’t have the strength and the ideological creativity to make any of those dreams come true.”

He added, “I don’t think you can take partisanship out of it because, really, the partisanship is just a proxy for racism. I mean, let’s be clear. When you have voter suppression laws in a place like Ohio, you have, and we’ve seen this sociologically, that there’s a certain segment of white people in America who would rather have their own lives inconvenienced than run the risk of black people being on an equal plane. Because frankly, all these voter suppression laws they hurt white people, too. Right? The intention is to keep black people from voting, but it inconveniences everybody. I am very sure that somebody living in Lorain, Ohio, doesn’t like the fact that their ID cards and things don’t work the way they used to as well. So the way you solve this problem is that the party leadership, now, whether that’s Joe Biden or formerly Nancy Pelosi or Chuck Schumer, any of these people, they have to start saying this is not an issue of compromise. The rhetoric has to start there. It has to say voting rights is fundamental. This is not something we can negotiate.”

House Oversight chairman demands visitor logs to Biden home, says Archives stonewalling probe

"The Archives isn't being transparent with the American people, " Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., tweeted late Sunday.

The chairman of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee is pressing President Joe Biden to release visitor logs to his Delaware home where classified documents were found while accusing the National Archives of stonewalling his investigation.

"The Archives isn't being transparent with the American people, " Rep. James Comer, R-Ky., tweeted late Sunday.

The agency that preserves presidential documents "has yet to provide @GOPoversight with a simple briefing on its handling of classified docs," Comer added. "So many questions remain unanswered. I will use the power of the gavel to get answers."

Comer also sent a letter Sunday to White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain demanding that he release the visitor logs for Biden’s Wilmington, Del., residence as well as all communications about properties searched for classified documents and those conducting the searches.

“The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is continuing to investigate President Biden’s mishandling of highly classified documents. It is troubling that classified documents have been improperly stored at the home of President Biden for at least six years, raising questions about who may have reviewed or had access to classified information," Comer wrote Klain.

"Additionally, President Biden’s personal attorneys, who do not possess security clearances, and White House staff continue to access and search the President’s residence in Wilmington, Delaware for classified documents. Given the serious national security implications, the White House must provide the Wilmington residence’s visitor log," he added.

You can read the letter here:

The White House said Monday there are no visitor logs for the home.

"Like every President in decades of modern history, his personal residence is personal," the White House Counsel's Office said in a statement to Fox News. "But upon taking office, President Biden restored the norm and tradition of keeping White House visitors logs, including publishing them regularly, after the previous administration ended them."

Biden’s personal attorneys first discovered classified documents at the Penn Biden Center, a think tank where Biden worked after his vice presidency, on Nov. 2, and alerted the National Archives, which two days later informed the Justice Department about the discovery. Since then, three separate discoveries of classified materials were found in Biden's garage and home in Wilmington.

Attorney General Merrick Garland has since appointed former U.S. Attorney Robert Hur as special counsel to investigate how the documents came to be improperly stored at the two insecure locations.

Comer said he was concerned by the timeline released by the White House showing Biden lawyers continued to search and find documents on Biden properties after the DOJ and FBI were involved.

“The Committee is also concerned White House aides and President Biden’s personal attorneys searched the Wilmington residence knowing that the Department of Justice was already investigating the matter,” he wrote Klain. “…President Biden has returned to Delaware this weekend without any reported law enforcement ever conducting an independent search for classified materials.”

British businessman arrested after uranium found at Heathrow airport

"I want to be clear that despite making this arrest, and based on what we currently know, this incident still does not appear to be linked to any direct threat to the public," Metropolitan Police's Counter Terrorism Commander Richard Smith said.

A British businessman has been arrested after a small amount of radioactive uranium was found as he was traveling through Heathrow Airport.

The British citizen, who is in his 60s, was detained by counterterrorism police following the discovery of traces of uranium at Heathrow on Dec. 29 in a consignment of scrap metal intended for an Iranian registered business based in the United Kingdom, The Telegraph reported.

The man was questioned under section nine of the Terrorism Act 2006, which created an offense “of making or possessing a radioactive device or possessing radioactive material with the intention of using it” in the commission or preparation of an act of terrorism. The section of that law is rarely used.

The police announced on Sunday that they had found no evidence of a plot and that they believed the incident wasn’t linked to any direct threat to the public.

The businessman was arrested Saturday morning and released on bail Sunday until April after being questioned by police.

The head of the Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command, Commander Richard Smith, said in a statement on Sunday, “The discovery of what was a very small amount of uranium within a package at Heathrow Airport is clearly of concern, but it shows the effectiveness of the procedures and checks in place with our partners to detect this type of material.

“Our priority since launching our investigation has been to ensure that there is no linked direct threat to the public,” Smith continued. “To this end, we are following every possible line of enquiry available to us, which has led us to making this arrest over the weekend.”

“I want to be clear that despite making this arrest, and based on what we currently know, this incident still does not appear to be linked to any direct threat to the public,” he added. “However, detectives are continuing with their enquiries to ensure this is definitely the case.”

Border Force officials at Heathrow called in police after discovering cargo contaminated with a “very small amount of uranium” during a routine screening using sophisticated radioactive scanning equipment.

While the identity of the businessman is unclear, it has been reported he’s involved with a company that imports scrap metal.

The uranium was contained within metal bars which came from Pakistan and were placed in the hold of an Oman Air passenger jet at Muscat Airport en route to London, according to the reports.

Citing senior sources, The Telegraph reported that it was most likely that uranium contamination of the metal bars was accidental, rather than part of a terrorist plot.

The arrest comes after the execution of dual British-Iranian citizen and former Iranian deputy defense minister Alireza Akbari was executed in Iran for allegedly spying for MI6. British intelligence services have also accused the Iranian regime of backing at least 10 plots to murder or kidnap opponents on UK streets in the last year.

Isn't it Time For Adam Schiff to be Expelled From Congress?

With each new release of the “Twitter Files” we learn more and more about the deep corruption in Washington. We sensed during Covid that something was really wrong – for example the bizarre denial of natural immunity. But thanks to Elon Musk’s decision to open the books, our worst fears have been proven true. Each new release seems to show something even more criminal inside America’s rotten ruling class.

In the latest release, thanks to the excellent reporting of independent journalist Matt Taibbi, we see outgoing Chair of the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), continuously pressuring Twitter to validate his fantasies of “Russian bots” manipulating US politics.

The short version of what Taibbi reported comes from around the time then-Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA) was about to release his Committee’s findings about the FBI misuse of the FISA Court to spy on the Trump presidential campaign. The FBI, it turns out, relied exclusively on the widely-discredited “Steele Dossier” – paid by the Hillary Clinton campaign – as justification to spy on the Trump campaign.

When pressure grew to release the Nunes findings, Twitter exploded with users demanding that Congress “release the memo.” That’s where then-ranking Member Schiff and his staff began relentlessly pressuring Twitter to show that the accounts demanding the release of the memo were actually Russian agents, out to help their supposed favorite, Donald Trump. Schiff was not alone. Fellow “Russiagate” hoaxers like Sen. Feinstein (D-CA) and Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) also pressured Twitter to find Russians behind the demand to release Nunes’ findings.

Over and over, Twitter – which was hardly sympathetic to Trump – told Schiff and his colleagues there was simply no evidence of Russian involvement. As much as some Twitter employees may have liked to report the opposite, to their credit they refused to participate in the scam.

Even after Twitter had informed Schiff and his fellow hoaxers that there was no Russian involvement, Sen. Blumenthal released a statement he knew was not true: “We find it reprehensible that Russian agents have so eagerly manipulated innocent Americans.” Again, this was right after he had been informed by Twitter employees - who were by-and-large strongly opposed to Trump - that there was just no evidence to back up such a statement.
