Randolph county investigating vandalism at power substation

Investigators responded to the scene to investigate and collect evidence at the site.
Upon inspection, they found damage that is consistent with gunshots.
The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations (SBI) were also notified.
EnergyUnited reports that the area of service affected includes Trinity, Thomasville and areas of Davidson County south of Thomasville, but that customers did not experience any outages.
Officials have been contacted for emergency planning in the event of an outage in that area.
