Chicago Mayor Admits 'Mistake' After Student Bribery Scandal

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot admitted to making a 'mistake' after getting caught red handed illegally seeking help from students to aid her reelection campaign in exchange for class credits.

In an email to Chicago Public Schools teachers last Wednesday, Lightfoot asked teachers to encourage students to volunteer to help her with a second term as mayor in what she called the "externship program."

Students would be expected to contribute 12 hours per week to the Lightfoot campaign, for which students could earn "class credit," WTTV reported.

"We’re simply looking for enthusiastic, curious and hard-working young people eager to help Mayor Lightfoot win this spring," read the email.

After WTTV News reported on the email, Lightfoot's campaign scrambled to do damage control - saying they would "case contact with CPS employees" out of an "abundance of caution."

Lightfoot herself said the attempt to bribe students was "simply a mistake."

Now, the Chicago Public Schools inspector general is investigating the matter, according to NBC News.

Meanwhile, Lightfoot's Mayoral opponents are pouncing.

The email comes just as a nine-way mayoral battle is underway and Lightfoot is facing formidable opponents, including Rep. Jesus "Chuy" Garcia of Chicago and Paul Vallas, a former superintendent of Chicago schools.

Vallas called for a thorough inquiry into the extent of the campaign’s involvement, including whether someone shared government email lists with a political entity.

“I cannot believe CPS did this without some kind of clear message from City Hall,” he said.

Another mayoral hopeful, Chicago Alderman Sophia King, said the email in and of itself was the kind of thing that "gives Chicago a bad name."

"I really think this is egregious, and if she had anything to do with this she should step down," King said of Lightfoot. -CBS News

In more damage control, the Lightfoot campaign has issued several statements stating that campaign staff have "been reminded about the solid wall that must exist between campaign and official activities and that contacts with any city of Chicago, or other sister agency employees, including CPS employees, even through publicly available sources is off limits. Period."

How Al Gore has made $330m with climate alarmism: Former VP made a fortune after losing to George W when he set up a green investment firm now worth $36BN that pays him $2m a month… as he warns about 'rain bombs' and 'boiling oceans'

Al Gore has made hundreds of millions through his climate awareness

The former VP is at the forefront of green technology investment

Gore's company Generation Investment Management pays him $2m per month

The company has billions in investments worldwide

Gore's wealth of around $300m is supplemented with speaking fees, shares and real estate

Warning the world that it is on the brink of disaster has been lucrative for Al Gore.

His wild prediction at Davos that Earth faces 'rain bombs' and 'boiling oceans' is just his latest in decades of climate alarmism.

At the same time, the former VP has been at the forefront of green technology investment that has seen his wealth balloon to an estimated $330 million.

Four years after losing to George W Bush in 2000, Gore set up Generation Investment Management with former Goldman Sachs Managing Director and close friend David W. Blood.

The mission statement of the investment firm, where Gore collects $2 million in a monthly salary, is to back companies that are making strides towards going green. The firm is worth around $36 billion.

He proudly said of his role at the fund, when it launched, was that of a figurehead saying: 'I'm not a stock picker.'

SBF's Clinton Ties Helped Disgraced Crypto King Dupe Investors

The relationship between FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried and the Clintons helped him to boost credibility before his firm imploded.

Bankman-Fried, or SBF, is accused of eight criminal charges, including conspiracy to commit money laundering, conspiracy to commit wire fraud on customers and lenders, conspiracy to commit commodities and security fraud, and separate wire fraud on customers and lenders.

And as the NY Post reports, a close relationship with the Clintons helped SBF to dupe investors.

Bill Clinton was paid north of $250,000 when he spoke at the disgraced FTX CEO’s Crypto Bahamas Conference in April, sources told The Post. At the over-the-top tropical shindig, the ex-US president along with former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair were famously photographed onstage next to Bankman-Fried, who appeared wearing shorts and a T-shirt.

Shortly thereafter, Bill and Hillary Clinton invited the 30-year-old Bankman-Fried — known as “SBF” in crypto circles — to speak at their annual Clinton Global Initiative in New York — an effective endorsement of the former FTX CEO that played a pivotal role in elevating his reputation among politicians and deep-pocketed investors alike, insiders told The Post. -NY Post

To promote the Clinton event, SBF's photo was featured on the Clinton Foundation website next to notables such as Matt Damon, Gavin Newsom, Melinda French-Gates and Larry Fink.

People close to the Clintons say it was a typical quid-pro-quo between the Democratic power couple and SBF; up and coming business leaders gain credibility by riding the Clinton coattails - and then the Clintons get a check.

"The Clintons’ involvement gave SBF some air cover," said one former confidante in a statement to the Post.

Kash Patel says elected officials involved with social media censorship should face suspension

Patel says that the American people need accountability and transparency from the officials involved in the censorship.

Former Trump advisor and senior counsel for Rep. Devin Nunes, Kash Patel says that elected officials colluding with Big Tech for censorship purposes need to be held accountable and possibly face suspension.

"We need to be talking about suspensions, and a complete barring of these individuals from all committees and other such matters," Patel said on the John Solomon Reports podcast. "Since the Republicans have the majority in the House, they can do that with Adam Schiff."

When Schiff was chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, he released information regarding Devin Nunes's phone calls and information regarding reporters. New York GOP Rep. Elise Stefanik characterized Schiff's actions as being illegal and unethical.

In 2018, former California Rep. Nunes and Kash Patel put together a report detailing the Russia Collusion narrative, which was labeled on Twitter as a Russian bot operation. It was later revealed that Rep. Schiff, Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Sen. Dick Blumenthal (D-Conn.) were pressuring the social media company to manipulate and censor the truth about the report.

"These oversight committees can subpoena Adam Schiff," Patel continued. "So that's a start. Go ahead and subpoena his phone calls, his emails and then make him testify before the American public."

Patel says that the American people need accountability and transparency from the officials involved in the censorship.

"He (Schiff) should never, ever be able to hold public office again, as he makes his decisions on the future," he stated. "The American public should have all that information."

House Judiciary Committee To Investigate Dobbs Leak: REPORT

The House Judiciary Committee intends to continue investigating the Supreme Court draft opinion leak that surrounded Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, an anonymous source close to the committee told Fox News.

The Supreme Court announced Thursday that its investigation into the Dobbs leak had failed to find the person responsible. The House Judiciary Committee is looking to pick up where the investigation left off, an anonymous source told Fox.

Republican Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, has previously indicated that the committee would investigate the leak, according to Fox.

Earlier in the week, the Supreme Court had reportedly narrowed down the list of suspects to a “small” list that included at least one law clerk. The Supreme Court released a 23-page document detailing the nearly 9-month investigation conducted by Gail Curley, the Marshal of the Supreme Court, that the investigation had been unable to conclusively identify the person who had leaked the draft opinion.

Chief Justice John Roberts announced on May 3, 2022, that an investigation would take place, and called the leak a “betrayal.”

“To the extent this betrayal of the confidence of the Court was intended to undermine the integrity of our operations, it will not succeed,” Roberts wrote. “The work of the court will not be affected in any way.”

The House Judiciary Committee and Jordan did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

Former NSW police sergeant sentenced to four months in prison over child sexual abuse images

A former NSW Police sergeant who accessed about 5,000 child sexual abuse images will spend at least four months in prison.

Key points:

Mannah accessed thousands of images of people under 18 posing in a sexually suggestive manner

The judge accepted the material was for personal use

Mannah will spend four months in custody under conditional release

Michael Anthony Mannah was arrested in January 2021 after activity on his iPhone and home internet services was intercepted under a warrant.

In September last year, a jury found the 50-year-old guilty of using a carriage service to access child abuse material, which related to a period of more than five months leading up to the arrest.

He was found not guilty of possessing or controlling child abuse material.

The NSW District Court heard the vast majority of the approximately 5,000 images Mannah accessed did not depict sexual activity, but people under the age of 18 posing in a sexually suggestive manner, including naked and in swimwear.

The court was told about 300 of the files were cartoons, anime or computer-generated imagery.

Judge Ian Bourke today accepted Mannah's purpose in searching for the material was personal use and not the sale or dissemination to others, nor did he take any steps to save the images.

But in sentencing, the judge said the offending occurred over a "considerable period" and noted offences of this kind were not "victimless" because real children are abused in the process of creating the material, which remains online for a long time.

While Mannah denied having a sexual interest in children, the jury heard the intercepted internet activity suggested the user wasn't "just accidentally going to one page" and there was a "consistent" return to a number of websites.

Judge Bourke didn't accept Mannah's denial and said there was no evidence of contrition or remorse, but concluded the images were not the "primary target" of his internet searches.

"These kinds of offences feed the market for the exploitation of children," the judge said.

Mannah was handed a total sentence of 12-months, but will spend four months of that in custody under a conditional release order.

The judge accepted prison will be more onerous for Mannah because he is a former police officer and due to the impact on his wife and two children.

He accepted Mannah had "reasonably positive" prospects of rehabilitation

Mannah's charges were the result of an investigation by the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission, which referred a brief of evidence to the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions.

He faced a maximum penalty of 15 years behind bars.

Tony Abbott advising controversial conservative lobby group Advance Australia

Former prime ministerTony Abbott is among a group of advisers to a conservative lobby group that last month was found to have published false information about the Voice to Parliament proposal in Facebook ads.

Founded in 2018 and backed by wealthy donors, Advance Australia has twice been found to have breached electoral laws with misleading or false political advertising.

In December, it published a series of Facebook ads about the Voice, which gathered 2.2 million audience impressions and were seen most often by Queenslanders over the age of 65.

The ads warned Australians that voting yes at the upcoming Voice referendum would provide "one race of people with special rights and privileges".

That claim was flagged as false information by one of Facebook's fact-checking partners, RMIT University.

"We found that it was not accurate," assistant director of RMIT FactLab, Sushi Das, said.

"We spoke to some of the country's leading constitutional and legal experts. And in their view, the proposal for the Voice to Parliament did not confer any rights on anyone, much less special rights."

Stew Peters Calls on President Trump to Apologize for Pushing COVID Death Jabs

President Trump has continued to praise Operation Warp Speed and the historically deadly COVID-19 jabs.

Stew Peters called on President Trump to issue an apology to the millions of people who’ve been maimed and murdered by the COVID-19 death jabs the 45th President continues to push when he makes the first tweet of his pending return to Twitter.

“I hope Trump’s first tweet back on Twitter is an apology to the millions maimed and murdered after his incessant and continuous push of the bioweapon death jab,” tweeted Stew Peters, the nationally-syndicated host of the Stew Peters Show and producer of the groundbreaking Died Suddenly film, which blew the lid off the depopulation agenda at the heart of COVID-19 and its “vaccine” roll-out.

he tweet from Peters, who’s spearheading real-world action to hold Big Pharma and other jab pushers accountable for the unprecedented carnage of COVID “vaccines,” which have been identified as mRNA bioweapons, came in the wake of President Trump’s continued defense and endorsement of the shots.

During a recent appearance by Trump on The Water Cooler podcast, he dug his heels in on his defense of the COVID jab, claiming that Operation Warp Speed, saved as many “100 million lives.” Additionally, President Trump dismissed the millions injured and killed by COVID jabs, claiming that “problems” occurred only in “relatively small numbers.”

Warp Speed, part of the Trump-era response to COVID, allowed the jab to skip years of safety testing and be delivered straight to the American people and the world while still under experimental status. Despite the obvious hazards, jab mandates were forced onto the general population en masse, prompting a historically massive death wave that’s led to young people in peak health suddenly dropping dead.

For others, blood clots and debilitating vaccine side effects, including strokes and paralysis, have ended or destroyed their lives.

In a tweet Peters made earlier this week, he called on President Trump to “admit one of two things.”

That he was either “lied to, and what was meant for good (WarpSpeed) was hijacked and used by evil people to deploy a bioweapon.”

Or, that “he’s in on it.”

Gambling companies Sportsbet, TAB and bet365 taking bets on cricket matches involving minors

Three of the biggest gambling companies in Australia are offering bets on international cricket matches involving underage players, prompting outrage from the country's child protection watchdog.

Key points:

The National Children's Commissioner is calling for a ban on gambling sporting events involving underage participants

There is no suggestion that any players have been involved in match fixing

Cricket Australia says it cannot control what betting markets are offered on events played overseas

ABC Investigations has discovered Sportsbet, TAB and bet365 have been offering bets on this month's inaugural Under-19 Women's T20 World Cup in South Africa, including last Wednesday's match between Australia and Sri Lanka in Benoni.

Almost half of the Australian players were aged under 18, including 15-year-old Maggie Clark and 16-year-old Lucy Hamilton.

All but three of the 11 players on Sri Lanka's team were aged under 18.

National Children's Commissioner Anne Hollonds said the betting was an exploitation of children and called for laws banning gambling on sporting events featuring minors.

"Clearly, kids are being exploited for profit," she said.

"Young people are basically being used for profit by these online gambling businesses. They are businesses making a profit on our kids."

Sportsbet declined a request for an interview. However, in a statement, it said it "works hard to ensure we comply with all relevant regulatory and legal requirements".

"Sportsbet does not provide betting markets for under 18 years of age competitions or events."

TAB and bet365, which is a Cricket Australia sponsor, did not respond to requests for comment.

Reporter reveals she suffered a miscarriage on live television

Lisa Guerrero has revealed she had “blood pouring out of me” after suffering a miscarriage on a live football broadcast.

Lisa Guerrero’s nightmare was somehow much worse than most knew.

The former NFL sideline reporter has described the moment she knew she had a miscarriage in an interview with PEOPLE.

“I pushed through and did my reports,” Guerrero said. “When I felt a dampness between my legs, I thought, ‘Oh, I got my period’. And then I remembered I was pregnant. I was having a miscarriage! I could feel blood leaking. The officials’ bathroom was in the tunnel behind me. ‘I’m going to the bathroom,’ I told my assistant, whose job was to race around the field with me. He looked at me as if I were insane. ‘They’re about to throw to you’.

“I delivered my live report. I was dizzy and nauseated but reminded myself to stand up straight. During our Wednesday phone calls, (my boss) Freddie (Gaudelli) would ream me out for bad posture. The pain was excruciating. I heard myself mispronounce a player’s name and knew I’d hear about it later. As soon as I finished, I raced off to interview a coach. Then I headed to the bathroom. As I sat on the toilet, I couldn’t believe the blood pouring out of me. It had soaked through my pants. I shoved a bunch of paper towels in my underwear.”

She said she kept the ordeal a secret as she flew back home.

Maricopa County Submits Weak ‘Answering Brief’ In Kari Lake’s Court Of Appeals Lawsuit – Conference Set For February 1! – FILING INCLUDED

Maricopa County filed a Brief in the Arizona Court of Appeals on Tuesday asking the Arizona Court of Appeals to affirm the trial court’s judgment in Kari Lake’s historic lawsuit against the rigged Arizona Midterm Election.

The Gateway Pundit reported that Kari Lake’s appeal against Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Peter Thompson’s dismissal of her lawsuit was scheduled for conference on February 1.

Lake recently told Steve Bannon, “We know they stole the election, and we have more evidence coming forth.”

The Arizona Court of Appeals ordered an expedited conference, agreeing with Lake that her case should be expedited as a ‘Petition for Special Action, ‘ giving Hobbs and Maricopa County until January 17 to respond and attempt to get the case rejected.

On election day, nearly 60% of machines and printers failed for in-person voters who turned out 3:1 on election day. Many did not get to vote, or they were forced to wait hours to vote and drop their ballots in a mysterious box to be tabulated later off-site. Maricopa County Recorder Stephen Richer also admitted the County did not keep chain of custody for likely hundreds of thousands of ballots leaving the vote centers.

With the chain of custody failures, there is no way of knowing if every legal vote was counted.

This happened because the printer settings were changed to print incorrectly sized ballot images onto the ballot paper.

According to cybersecurity expert Clay Parikh’s testimony, it was an intentional act aimed at disenfranchising Republican voters who turned out 3:1 for Trump-Endorsed candidates. This and other election catastrophes in Maricopa County stole the election from Kari Lake, Abe Hamadeh, and other Republican candidates.

In Lake’s trial with Maricopa County Judge Peter Thompson, Maricopa County Elections Director Scott Jarrett testified at least four times on one day that 19-inch ballot images were not printed onto 20-inch ballot papers, and he had “no knowledge” of this occurring.

The next day, Jarrett changed his testimony to state that he learned of a fit-to-paper issue “a few days after Election Day” that printed “a slightly smaller image of a 20-inch image on a 20-inch paper ballot.”

Maricopa County stood behind their “fit-to-paper” testimony in the response.

Maricopa County also dismissed Runbeck whistleblower claims that there was no chain of custody for hundreds of thousands of ballots and that signatures were not verified for tens of thousands of votes.

They claim that “because every early ballot eventually tabulated was verified through the signature verification process, there is simply no evidence that a lack of chain of custody records from election day could ‘affect the result, or at least render it uncertain.'”

Still, Maricopa County refused to allow a signature analysis by Lake’s team. Weak Judge Peter Thompson dismissed Count III of Lake’s lawsuit, requesting “An opportunity to inspect Maricopa County ballots from the 2022 general election, including ballot signature envelopes and the corresponding signatures on file with Maricopa County, prior to trial.”
