People awaken by degrees and there are various degrees of awake. Holy persons, Saints, prophets and poets are more awake than most of us, who remain sort of drowsy, but at least we know God is real .
On Awakening some of us may initially function at a very basic, instinctual level while we are "between realities"
As long as we continue to seek the light, to approach the highest, we rise through the world and draw closer to God.
The most powerful and immediate way to do that, to help ourselves, is by helping others. Yardwork, a smile or a prayer are all fine. We take one step toward God, he will take one step toward us.
As we grow to understand the nature of the Babylon system it loses importance and power over us. We have no more social "systems" to rely on, no FDIC to trust, only God.
When compliments and insults are become equally meaningless to us, when we forgive those who have injured us and are in turn forgiven, when we know our minds are sacred places and keep them free of hatred, of desire and aversion for people things or dreams, Higher powers may more easily communicate with us.
