I didn't get it. I knew better. Not everyone did and he's got more influence than you seem to comprehend. His promotion wasn't inconsequential. It was/is powerful and a lot of people who might not have otherwise gotten it, due to natural intuition/suspicion, may well have gotten it based on his recommendation alone.
