Nov. 9, 1965 Northeast Is Hit by Blackout

On v, at 5:27 p.m., a blackout occurred as several Northeastern states and parts of Canada were hit by a series of power failures lasting as long as 13 hours. The blackout covered 80,000 miles and affected more than 30 million people.
