Hyman G. Rickover is regarded as the "father" of the US Nuclear Navy… Born in Poland in 1900, he emigrated (with his family) to the United States in 1906… He joined the US Navy in 1918, and by 1973 he was promoted to the rank of Admiral. He died in 1986.
Hyman G. Rickover was the man who got nuclear reactors into US submarines, ships, and aircraft carriers. Many of the reactors were of his own design.
