Very true, this theory that our immune systems need vitamin D and sweating! I know this because, years ago in another career, I studied the effects of whole body hyperthermia (raising subjects' core body temperatures in a machine) on the viral loads of the viruses with which those individuals were infected.
In my personal experience I also noted that prior to being diagnosed with a chronic (but treatable) bacterial infection, I always felt a lot better after spending about 20 minutes in a hot tub.
That was before I was diagnosed. I mean, I felt better for a couple of days at a time, just from a dip in the hot tub.
I finally mentioned that to my doctor and he said, "I think you're on to something. Let's test you for xyz bacteria" and boom I was put on the proper antibiotic and cured.
So yes, elevated body temps do, apparently, help keep us healthy.
