Guardian Accuses Former Brazilian President Bolsonaro of Indigenous “Genocide” – with a Photo of Venezuelan

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and the left-wing “Guardian” accused Jair Bolsonaro of “Genocide” of the indigenous Yanomami tribe. Investigative journalist Oswaldo Eustáquio revealed that images of emaciated Yanomami were actually of Venezuelan refugees from Communism.

Visiting Yanomami territory in Roraima with his Minister of Health, Nísia Trindade, to, President Lula da Silva blamed Bolsonaro for “abandoning” indigenous tribes. Bolsonaro responded, saying that his government prioritized health care for the Yanomami, benefitting 449.000 indigenous people.

At the same time, horrific images of starving Yanomami people circulated on the internet, looking like concentration camp inmates. Lula’s PT government seized on the images to accuse former President Jair Bolsonaro of “genocide”. Left-wing British “Guardian” newspaper’s Latin America correspondent Tom Philipps picked up the story and ran the photos:.

“The photos really shook me because it’s impossible to understand how a country like Brazil neglects our Indigenous citizens to such an extent,” the Guardian quotes Lula.

However, investigative journalist Oswaldo Eustáquio revealed that the images were not of Brazilians, but Venezuelans suffering under the catastrophic Communist dictatorship who came to Brazil to ask for help from relatives on the prosperous side of the continent. Thousands of suffering Venezuelans try to cross the border to Brazil every month, including indios.

“The narrative that Brazilian indigenous people suffered a genocide is false”, Eustáquio writes. “The truth is that under the Chavista dictatorship commanded by Maduro, most of the Venezuelan population is starving and has lost up to 25% of its weight. This is even worse for to the indigenous peoples of that country.”

Tom Philipps of the “Guardian” has neglected to report on the case of Chief Serere Xavante, who was arrested for the crime of protesting and is still being held and is reportedly being abused.

The Guardian has removed the photo from its article.

Evangelist Franklin Graham declines to endorse Trump in GOP primary

Trump ruffled religious feathers recently with comments indicating a belief that many Republican midterm candidates lost due to them taking an uncompromising line on abortion restrictions.

Evangelist Franklin Graham, formerly a stalwart ally of former President Donald Trump, has declined to endorse him in the 2024 GOP primary but will not back a challenger.

"I'm going to stay out of it until after the primaries have finished," Graham said to CBS News at Friday's March for Life. An independent, Graham had been a prominent defender of Trump during his time in office. Graham has not typically made endorsements in primary contests.

"I'm just not going to get involved in supporting this one over that one. Let's just let the people decide. And when the dust is settled, I'll make a decision on that point," he continued.

Graham's decision against endorsing Trump comes at a time of mounting tension between the former president and his traditional conservative voter base among evangelical Christians.

Trump ruffled religious feathers recently with comments indicating a belief that many Republican midterm candidates lost due to them taking an uncompromising line on abortion restrictions in the wake of the Dobbs v. Jackson decision that overturned the constitutional right to abortion.

"It wasn't my fault that the Republicans didn't live up to expectations in the midterms. It was the 'abortion issue' poorly handled by many Republicans, especially those that firmly insisted on No Exceptions, even in the case of Rape, Incest, or Life of the Mother, that lost large numbers of Voters," he wrote on Truth Social.

In an interview last week on "Water Cooler," Trump stood by his prior comments, telling host David Brody that "[Y]ou have to go with your heart. You have to go with what you feel. But when you have rape, incest and the life of the mother, I think that's something that a lot of people happen to agree with. I don't want to force anybody to do it. I think it's much harder to win elections."

Pastor Robert Jeffress also opted against making a primary endorsement, telling The Hill that he saw no "need to make an official endorsement two years out."

Roughly 84% of white evangelical voters backed Trump in 2020.

Ted Cruz Introduces Legislation To Impose Term Limits For Congress

Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz introduced a constitutional amendment Monday to impose term limits for members of Congress.

The legislation, first obtained by the Daily Caller, would limit U.S. Senators to two six-year terms and Members of the U.S. House of Representatives to three two-year terms after the date of its enactment.

“Term limits are critical to fixing what’s wrong with Washington, D.C. The Founding Fathers envisioned a government of citizen legislators who would serve for a few years and return home, not a government run by a small group of special interests and lifelong, permanently entrenched politicians who prey upon the brokenness of Washington to govern in a manner that is totally unaccountable to the American people,” Cruz told the Caller before introducing the constitutional amendment.

“Terms limits brings about accountability that is long overdue and I urge my colleagues to advance this amendment along to the states so that it may be quickly ratified and become a constitutional amendment,” Cruz added.

The legislation has 1o Cosponsors including Sens. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio), Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.), Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.), Roger Marshall (R-Kan.), Mike Lee (R-Utah), Steve Daines (R-Mont.), Todd Young (R-Ind.), Mike Braun (R-Ind.), Rick Scott (R-Fla.), and Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.).

The constitutional amendment needs two-thirds support in both the House and Senate in order to be passed. Also, three out of every four states would need to approve of the amendment
